Time To Rest?

I have been rising early, today's sunrise was wonderful.

I didn't have much flour left in my large glass canister so I dumped it out and gave it a good scrubbing before I refill it.
I also cleaned out the very large britta we have and changed the filter.
I made some flavored salt. I used my last batch all up.
I have dried basil and oregano I grew this summer in kosher salt.

I have been making small appetizers from leftovers we had.
Brie Cheese spiked with garlic cloves with tomatoes and some olives, a sprig of rosemary and some olive oil all around. so darn good

Husband finished another puzzle.

And it is giveaway time a pair of homemade slippers with a knit washcloth and soap. I will also add some other surprises.
The slippers stretch so no need to worry about size.
My first blog post was Jan 27 2010 I will pull a name on that day and announce it Jan 28.
All you have to do is be a follower and comment on this post.
Good luck!

I LOVE oregano and used to grow it. Then the rabbits or deer devoured it so had to put a chicken wire fence around it. Then just stopped growing it but still love it.
How adorable are those cool slippers which have same colors but with variegation they are twins. And that's the cool part. Am surprised your granddaughter didn't whisk them away already.

Hello! Those knitted slippers look so warm and lovely. I would love to be the lucky winner of your giveaway! I started blogging in 2007. Wow, time flies. I hope you have a good week!

I love your herb-salt blend I would love to enter your giveaway.
I started a blog soon after retirement so around 20 years or so. I didn't know about blogger at that time, so was with yahoo 360 they shut down and we all went to multiply-I loved that place was ahead of it's time-before facebook-they sold out as they also had a selling area and they shut down the blogs-we were are all really upset overlosing our blogs-then came facebook-ugh and I found Blogger and a handful of very good friends.
Blogging has always been good for me, since we rarely see people these days.
sorry for long post-

You started blogging ahead of me. I posted my first blog post on August 2, 2010.
Lately, my life has been so busy that I really slacked off posting. Somehow, it doesn't feel very important to me anymore. I started blogging as a challenge to myself.

My crafty sister gave me a pair of knitted slippers similar to yours but I seldom wear them as I prefer my slide-on comfy sandals. I wear the knitted slippers when I travel as they pack easily. Thanks for the chance to win but I want to give someone else the chance to win.

Hugs, Julia

You have been blogging for almost 1 year exactly longer than I have...My first post was 2/22/2011. I had to look back and see when it was and in doing so, saw the times when I had 50 - 60 comments. That seems unimaginable at this point in time. But I am so grateful for the lasting friendships that I have made along the way. I remember the trepidation of publishing that first post and the joy when I received my first comment and had my first follower. Anyways...I drift. LOL Congratulations to you and I would be honored to have my name thrown in your proverbial hat....What a treat those slippers would be during the cold winters of Nod... ~Robin~ (Beautiful sunrise!!)

Isn't it fun to create little appetizers with the festive leftovers? I hope mine last at least until after the weekend.
Your prizes look lovely but I can't wear that kind of slipper. We have hardwood stairs and I've gone down them when wearing exactly that kind. Not a thing I want to repeat.

Well who would not want to win these? That puzzle would take me forever! What time do you have to get up to see such beauty? 😬 sheepunderfeet

Hi. I am a relatively new follower of your blog but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy your posts. You've got me rummaging through my fridge looking for things that I can use to make some appetizers for lunch today! Those slippers look so warm and cosy. Thanks for the chance to win them.

I have read your blog for quite awhile as I live in Maine and love seeing localish blogs and miss the old blogging day. Athough not a follower, I'm a follower now as I'm a knitter (of little things, mostly gnomes!) and would be thrilled to win your makes. Loving all things handmade I would love these. Thanks for the chance!

I can't find Kosher salt anywhere around here. I guess there's a shortage. Where do you use the flavored salt? I've never done that. It's been so dark and dreary here but yesterday I did see the sunrise at work! Then we had sun all day and thankfully I got out of work early enough to enjoy it for a couple of hours anyway! Your slippers are super cute but the fact that they are hand made is so sweet! Happy New Year and I hope the snow isn't too bad by you this weekend.

It’s always great to come here and see a new post from you. (You seem to be having the best retirement ever!) And yet somehow I almost missed this one with a giveaway! Thank you so kind to do.

I am a bit late in reading and commenting, but better late than not. Congratulations on your upcoming blog anniversary, Cathy, and what a fun idea to celebrate with a giveaway. The homemade slippers would be my favorite as first thing that comes off when we enter our apt are shoes, then coats.
