What's Your Passion?

Lately I have read a lot about people and their passions. I wonder do I have a passion?
I love to garden in the summer but I don't feel it is a passion. A passion is consuming...
I read about a girl who love pickles she has a website dedicated to pickles. Silly right? but
not to her and it was a national mention in a magazine.

I love to hunt for the next great find. But do I live for it? And what will I do with a lot of
finds except keep or pass them on to friends?

I have many things that I love to do, We live in an amazing area.
My friends and family are amazing. Maybe that is my passion.

Thank you for all the good wishes for David's birthday, facebook and the phone exploded with wishes he was over whelmed and humbled. He did get his Mac and cheese with 1/2 lb of pure lobster meat in it.

Since I am reading an amazing John Irving book right now.(Last Night In Twisted River)
I thought a quote from him would be great.

Dump Finds, Good News,......

The picture frame is a find from the dump. It is new the picture is the one that came with it.

I think the picture of us at the beach should go in here.

Speaking of the beach we did a bit of beach combing this was a piece of wood Husband found
he put the little copper legs on that is it.

We have had a recent move in at the pond, we have struck a deal they eat bugs and sing to us at
night and I will let them live in my little pond. So far it is working great:0)

We had some good news in Boston today so we celebrated with some munchies and called it dinner.
We don't have to go back for 2 weeks yahoo. We have been going every week. It is such a hard ride in and out.

Summer is here it was 80's when we got home but close to 100 in Boston.

He's A Keeper

Monday and Tuesdays are long days at work, about 10 hours. By the time I walk in the door
making dinner is not what I want to do. Monday I walked in the door and found this!

He had made dinner and not just some dinner he tried a brand new recipe!
David does not cook he doesn't even flip hamburgers this was huge!
I even had a little flower on my plate and he made a bouquet of roses from my garden.
It was a wonderful meal He is a keeper and so is the recipe.
He told me that it had terms he knew from carpentry. Slice, shave, chop so he thought he could handle it :0)

Three of my planters outside are a beautiful blue so I decided on red, white, and blue as a planting theme for my pots.
The non blue pots I took a cue from Stone Wall Kitchens and planted a blueberry bush in one.
every chipmunk and squirrel in a 10 mile area have checked it out.  We may not get
many blueberries to eat.

The nights are still cool so it is fire pit time.

Two of our chairs are painted and ready.
And our house is decked out for the fourth. We will be home for the fourth the first time in several years. Our area has wonderful fireworks and parade I am looking forward to attending.

My husband's cousin Donna has started a blog so hop on over, say hi and that I sent you.

If you have a little room for some extra prayers please add my niece Melissa who is facing a major health

Weekend Dump Finds

I hope your weekend was a good one. It was beautiful weather for us,
after a very rainy period. I bought  plants to plant in my large planters
and mulched more gardens. Now on to dump finds. This sweet church bird house.
That will end up in my garden.

It is hard to see the little pink bisque basket in the back but it is darling
The top comes off so you can put your treasures inside. It is old, on the bottom
It says Napco Boston. The little hand painted sign I wired to my plant pot very cute if I do say so
Myself

The mug is Johnson Brothers of England I soaked it and ran it through the dish washer
good as new. The sweet plant pot is made in Japan. I have a little plant in it, sitting
on the porch table very cute.

And last but not least 7 gardening magazines. I will read them and pass them on.
The best part of it all as always free!
***
I ache from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. A nice shower and some Motrin should help. Have a great week.

The best way to get real enjoyment out of a garden is to put on a wide straw hat, hold a little trowel in one hand and a cool drink in the other, and tell the man where to dig.

Kindness Matters

For the past year we have been in and out of Boston a lot.
We have met some of the nicest nurses and Drs ever. They are kind and understanding.
But we have also met some of the rudest people I have ever seen.

Wed we got out of the Dr at rush hour. Now we have driven in during rush hour
lots of times but holy cow we couldn't take it so we went to Faneuial(sp) hall had some dinner and
listen to some music and then drove home in the setting sun and rain. Driving in that rude mess is not
the life for us .

This is wool that I marbled. before on the bottom.
Not a lot of change in the red.

chaper 3 of the Grocery store.
Going into the express line a man about 2 steps in front of me turns around and says.
"Please go in front of me" I looked behind me to be sure he was talking to me
Of course that made my day kindness matters for sure.

A Visit To The Dump (again)

I helped David go to the dump:) I got a few things.
This sweet blackberry plate is a keeper.

Some candles that smell great. I have the latte one burning right now hmmm.

We dug this out of the metal pile I thought it was nice.
I love the color.

Miss Baby came for a visit she is growing by leaps and bounds.
It raised our spirits to see her, she is such a love.

And Miss Sadie put on her pearls for the occasion.
It was a rainy cold weekend we stayed in, watched movies, and caught up on some
house work.
Have a great week!

How Can I Top That?

Since I will never be able to top my dump find in the last post.
I am taking a walk in my gardens.
Heavy rains are predicted for the weekend, it will ruin my flowers.

It has been quite a week Husband was admitted into the hospital for a few days for tests
The tests came back basically good. He is on some more meds and we go back to the
Dr on wed.

We are now home and comfy.

I think since it is going to rain all weekend I am going to clean the house.

Tuck in and hook, something I haven't done for awhile.
and watch old movies. Ahh sounds like bliss right?

This is a sneak peek of the rug I am working on.
(David's cat)
David loves to watch the robins all over the garden picking up bugs.
Have a great weekend.
