A Weekend At The Beach

This is Parson's beach in Maine. Just the loveliest beach.

And it has the signature rocky beach of Maine on parts of it.

This picture is very washed out but it had the loveliest colors a wonderful rug I would think.
This trip was a gift from my Daughter and Son In Law for Christmas. We look forward to this trip every year. It is a perfect time to visit Maine beaches. And we met up with...

Husband's brother and his wife and Husband's cousin (my rug hooking buddy) and her husband. My bother in law got us into a great restaurant and what a wonderful time we had!!!
After we went to his cousin's house for night caps and lots more laughs. Such a fun night!

My sweet friend and I took a nice walk on Thursday and we came to a very old cemetery. I love to read the old stones some are so sad whole families wiped out within months of each other.

I am finally done with the commission rug I was working on (and driving me crazy) I just need to bind it, it is all steamed and waiting for me.

We have another busy weekend coming next weekend with company coming and a big vintage sale that husband is vending at.

Have a wonderful week.

Happy Earth Day / Easter

Happy Earth Day while I do not celebrate per say, I do use a water bottle daily and try to do my part.

Well we have had another family Easter and everyone had fun.
My sweet sister in law brought me flowers and my other sister in law brought me a gift basket of jams, jellies, and wine.

The night before Easter my Sweet B and her parents stay overnight.
We have a good meal, play a game of cards, and just enjoy.

Easter morning it is all about the bunny.
Sweet B got a new puppy last winter. She is a pound puppy
and just graduated from obedience school this week and she was all about the bunny too.

The family gathered for ham and ribs with all the fixings
We had an egg hunt for the adults and the kids.
We also had Nerf ax throwing. As my daughter said only this family would have ax throwing for Easter lol.

Tonight I used up some of the left overs in a very creative way.
I mixed mashed potatoes, chopped ham, Cheese, some spices. Made some patties rolled in bread crumbs and pan cooked it in some olive oil. So very yummy! I am making bread in my bread machine tonight and trying to get caught up on laundry.
Another busy weekend coming up.

Out Of This World

We took sweet B for her Birthday overnight adventure.
Very late as her birthday is in Dec. We still had a wonderful time.
We went to the discovery center. Named after our teacher in space that had that horrid accident on lift off and Shepard another very successful astronaut from NH.

Sweet B got the biggest kick out of this camera. We are all losing heat from our face lol.

We stayed in a hotel and she got to swim her favorite!
We had the best time she makes us laugh and surprises us with her very smart answers on things that we thought she would have no idea about.

We picked up a couple of kits for dying eggs this one was emoji eggs. I blew out 6 eggs set her up and she did the rest. Next weekend she will do 6 more a different way. So what to do with the 6 eggs I blew out? I made quiche very good quiche if I do say so myself. Saute peppers and onions with bacon and cheese, yumm

And we had brown bread with it. I have not had this in awhile. My dad's mother use to have this when we visited. Very good and a nice bread to go with quiche.
Well Sunday again I am headed to get the PJ's on and call it an early night.

Have a wonderful  week!

Making Do

I have been getting my spring and Easter things out.
In my next life I would like to live here. Such a sweet painting I picked up at some sale.

Every year we blow out eggs and Sweet B colors them.
I have tried to save as many as I can over the years. Makes a sweet decoration.

I finally got to take my close friend out for lunch for her birthday that was last month. After we headed to the local thrift store.
I found this it is for sewing but I am going to use it for my rug hooking. Good find for 3.00.

I also found this small green pottery bowl. Just the right size for compound butter that I make to go with bread when I bake. .50

And this hand stitched sweet candle mat. again .50 I had to rescue it! it is sitting on my coffee table with a battery operated candle.

Sat I finally got to my guild meeting. I got up early and made Madeleines to take with me.

It was indigo dying (Shebori) funny thing is when I got home I figured out this was not my piece. but still nice and fun class.

I have wanted one of the covers for my frame like everyone has but since I am on a self imposed buying freeze I pulled out what I had for fabric....

And I made myself one from materials I had here. I am trying very hard not to purchase any rug hooking supplies for at least 6 months. I am a hoarder when it comes to rug hooking, I have lots of books and ideas I have wanted to hook but if  I see something I like, I buy it! I will never live long enough to use up the wool and linen I  already have.

Nice weekend we were able to do a bit of yard work where the snow has receded. I have plants starting to pop up ahhh spring I knew you would come. Except we have snow in the forecast for tomorrow! not much but still snow.
Have a great week everyone!
