Amazing TA DA DUMP

I went to the dump nice and early this morning BINGO!

This lamp is in perfect shape.

It has the original shade!!!!

It is Salmon Falls pottery made in NH.

This lamp goes for 150.00

I texted a picture to my friend who said why would anyone dump that???

I just had to share the good dump day!

on another note the ice cream lady took her 6 yr old to the dump with her

she came running in saying I got some movies at the dump.I think they like dump shopping.

 The best place to shop in the area.

Channeling Pippi longstockings

It was a VERY busy weekend!

On Sat morning at the last minute David decided to join a craft fair that was going

on about 2 miles from the house. It was hot, he did ok keeping cool and lots of water.

Bright and early Sun morn we headed for a family cookout. We also got a call from a

friend to come to the beach and stay in one of his cottages. After the cookout we went to the beach and walked into a big party with lots of friends and

adults that use to be David's students. We had so much fun and it was really good medicine for David. By the time we got home this afternoon David was exhausted and took a 4 hour nap.

If you get to Wells Maine you have to stop and get these donuts. By the time I got there this morning the line was out the door so worth the wait(.Maple rounds not to be missed)

This is a dump find it had all of the drawers, one was broken that David fixed.

This is after I sanded it.

The paint came from a yard sale I bought a whole box for 5.00 so I would say paint.

1.00 I got new drawer pulls a bag full at another yard sale for 1.00

So this sweet little bureau cost a total 2.00 or less I plan on looking for oval frames to make the front look better. But for now it will help organize my craft room.

I have colored my own hair for years. The color I always used is no longer there.

so I tried a caramel you would think warm light brown right? Nope as red as this.

I am off to get another color to go over it. Who knows what I will look like:(

I am taking a moment to remember those who gave all.

This and That

It has been an odd week so far.I was at the grocery checking out.

I bought 2 waters put one on the belt and told the girl to charge me for 2.

The guy behind me told the girl I was stealing the water.

she tuned red and said no I have it. I looked at him he had a 6 pack under his arm

he said "I am watching you" really do I look shifty?

I didn't know if I should be scared or laugh

I found a very interesting book on how to use bought cookie dough.

These are huge cookies but soooooo good.

Sugar cookie dough

break it apart add 1/4 c brown sugar

choc chips

and cut up candy bars

some vanilla and your good to go.

I won 7.00 from the lottery. I bought myself a pair of new llbean shoes

with 5.00 left over now that's a deal.

There are new owners of the ice cream shop next to us.

They are city folks:0) she told me she hates to go to the dump

I explained how the dump works. Dump some see something good take it.

She stared at me and said really? Yep

She left with her trash saying "I love this town."

I spotted a lady slipper on our hill. They are so rare here.

so pretty.

I am off to win cards wish me luck.

A Mental Health Day

Saturday bright and early I went yard saling with 2 friends.

I found great books.

 clothes for Miss Baby

And some plants at the church sale.

It was nice to be out and about with friends.

When I got home I felt tired and just out of sorts.

So I decided to have myself a mental health day.

I had a nap on the porch,I read some of the new magazines that came in the mail.

I painted my toes and just sat. I discovered our phones were out along with the internet.

It was a very quiet night. I am feeling much better today and worked in the garden all day.

David is feeling better, still he tires easily. He is painting our chairs

 using what ever paint he has. I love all of the colors.

Another weekend has come and gone. Next weekend will be a long weekend for me.

The first one in a year yeah!

Keeping It So Simple

I am enjoying a cup of tea in my newest handmade mug.

I love collecting them in all shapes,colors and sizes. You always know what mug is yours at my house.

My Lily of the valley smells so sweet by the walkway.

My pottery mushrooms were a gift from my mother.

I miss her more every day.

And this is our big summer plan. My daughter said we will be as big as a house.

I plan on pacing myself. It lists all the ice cream places in NH with lots of coupons.

As I am typing this we are having our first Thunder storm of the summer.

Lighting struck our house the first month we moved in, Soooo a little nervous.

Our trip to the Dr's today was good David is still struggling to get his strength back.

We have to go back in 2 weeks not the 3 we usually go.

Some of his tests were a little off.

Ben Cartwright where are you?

I mulched a lot the gardens this weekend lots of sweating, and bug bites. I have truly come to the conclusion that I hate manual labor. while I was mulching I thought if I lived in the old west I would have to be a saloon girl or marry Ben Cartwright.I could never fend for myself.  Ben would have lots of help around so I could sit and read,hook, and throw lavish parties. Hop Sing I believe I will have steak tonight.:0)

Good Miss Baby time was had. Her Mother's day gift to her mother.

She now says mom,mom,mom! Of course her first words were dad, dad, dad.

My mother's day gift? David sat down this morning and said "I can say I feel good for the first time in a long time" Hooray he still has a ways to go but it is a good start.

The Dentist...

I had to have a filling replaced not really my favorite thing.

But I really want to know, why do they want to carry on a conversation when they have both

hands in your mouth?

I tried to think of something beautiful to take my mind off it.

I though about the complete set of books I just got from 1909.

about a young woman going through college.

Now how many women went to college in 1909?

Stress..

What is it good for? absolutely nothing.(I know that is not how the song goes)

I do not like stress, I do not thrive on stress,So I turn to the first thing that helps.

This old mixer and I have cooked up a storm in times of stress.

David is still having issues I feel we are falling backward.

So....I made banana bread.

His appetite is off so I made choc chip cookies.

I think depression is his enemy right now.

So... I made whoopie pies.

Stress sends me to the food I love and oh how I love fiddle heads!

Since I have now eaten enough food in general for him and myself.

I took an old fashion walk and smelled the flowers.

a bit of gardening and a bit of cleaning.

I am hoping my pants fit me in the morning:)

I am breathing deeply and tying to let go and live for today.

Stress how do you deal with it?

I have been told we are lucky to live in the area we do.

Luck had nothing to do with it. It was a lot of hard work on my husband's part.

People say you are so lucky to have such a wonderful daughter.

That I should figure out just how I raised her and write a book.

Here it is I paid attention. To EVERYTHING.

She is an educated accomplished young mother who I am sure with her wonderful husband will raise an

amazing daughter of her own.
