What The Groundhog Said

He predicted an early spring, could it be????

I cut forsythia branches hoping they will bloom.
The buds are early I think.

The temps have been record breakers 60's in February!!
But it makes for some muddy walks.
Sadly more snow Tuesday not much 1 to 3 inches and yes we do have snow on the ground but we have lost a lot the past few days.
*****

I had a pretty good dump find this week. A sizzix! no other pieces maybe there were none or maybe someone else beat me to them who knows? This sells for 100.00 so free is good!

I dropped a few bags at the thrift store and walked out with this sweet mug. It is wonderful to keep my afternoon tea warm between pulling wooly loops.

My new sofa, I am thrilled with it. I took a floor model and they took some $$ off so both of us are happy.

I will end with a picture of a beginning, a sunrise this week.
I had a wonderful few days. I visited my friend Pam to help her set up her new studio. We met Sweet B and family for lunch and a bit of thrift store shopping. And tonight the big game! I have no loyalty to either so let the game begin.

I want to thank you for the wonderful comments and emails on my last post. I thought when I posted it that you would all feel like I have really run out of material lol ( I kind of have). I love that my simple life is of any interest to anyone and that it hit a cord with a lot of you.
Sending you sweet wishes for a valentine's day of your choosing.

You find the best stuff at the "dump". Great score on the Sizzix!!!
Love the new sofa ;-)
Enjoy the game. I don't care either and wouldn't watch it even if I cared...lol! Just not a sports watching kinda hooker.

Nice sofa and mug!
Happy Super Bowl!
It is going to be, I believe, a very good game.

Had temps in the 60's here too but drizzly and cloudy today. At a distance it appears my forsythia has beginning buds on them. Good scores and the fact the Sizzix was at the dump must be a reflection of its functionality. But free is good.

I'm glad that you could find some great bargains at the dump. Free is good. You can always bring it back if you don't use it.

It feels like spring here too and the snow is melting. The groundhog has predicted an early spring. I hope he is right. The official spring is March 20th.

Hugs,
Julia

We had some glorious days last week and it's chillier today but still some sun and I love that! I don't have any forsythia and I think I may have to plant some this year. Shoots are coming up though and I need to blog also. I loved your last post. Yes, retirement means simple days but somehow they go fast! I'm still putting in a few days a week and so far I'm enjoying it but I'm finding that I've been saying to myself..why am I still working? This may be the last year. OK, I'm an idiot..what's a Sizzix? Have a good week Cathy!

Wow, your new sofa is beautiful. I love the color. I am always willing to buy a floor model to save some $$, I like the mug you found at the thrift store. I'm not sure what a Sizzix is, but free is always good. Sounds like your weather has been warm. Here in Utah we had a very snowy and rainy week with cold temperatures, but a warm up is expected next week. Have a good week and Happy Valentines to you!

Great finds at the thrift store and the dump. Maine weather has been warm as well, with little snow so far. Because we have never lived so close to the ocean I'm not sure what the norm is, but we'll take it. Working on some gourd projects, and also bought a new sewing machine. The one I had was old and heavy and I donated it to a local thrift store. I want to work on some crafts so it will come in handy. You and David have a good week.

I always love to find a treasure thrifting, free is even better! Your couch looks very nice. Sounds like a good week, here's to another!

Another fun week of outings and "enjoyings." Eek on the mud. We have some muddy roads here as well. It doesn't pay to wash one's vehicle...at least not if you travel country roads. We've cooled back down to I think "normal" temps for this time of year. (If there IS such a thing as "normal" temps - or anything - in Nod.) I love your new couch! Once the latest renovations are done at the lake house, I will need some new furniture. I had found a couch online that I fell in love with but it is crazy expensive and would not be a practical fit for up there if there is any thought of little hands and fingers about. The color/fabric of yours I think would be perfect. Love your covered mug too. You do find some wonderful treasures! Happy Monday my friend. ~Robin~

You found a couple of nice things - what is a Sizzix for? Love your new sofa and I like the top on the mug!

Ok, Me again! Love the sofa...especially love the Sizzix. You'll have to check out OTF for insight on strip cutters. Dies also.

Nice find on the Big Shot! It's so wonderful thrifting & lunching with friends. I love your new couch. I need one but the cat. I don't think we even have any furniture stores around here any more. Ikea I guess, they're still there. Anyway it's really nice!

What in the world is a sizzix?

I guess there are lots of us who don't know about Sizzix. But if it makes you happy to have found it then that's a good thing. That pretty mug is also a good thing...and your sofa.
Have a lovely Valentines Day 💗💗💗

Your sofa is fabulous -- JUST EXACTLT what I would love -- the shape, the cushions, the color! I couldn't get rid of my barely-used Cricket (similar to Sizzix, I think) at my yard sale -- for very cheap. I'm going to try to sell it on Market Place when the weather gets better. You were a lucky woman!
