Quick Post

I saw a post about making cream cheese from milk that is a bit past its date. Well I had a quart of that so I gave it a try and added garlic scapes. It turned out so good! And it was fairly easy.

I had about a cup of blueberries to use up. Blueberry coffee cake
I also used up the last of the cheerio cereal (cinnamon nut) for the topping. Turned out great.

And last but not least my geranium in all its glory!
We are in for pretty bad weather today so I gathered some flowers I wanted to press and I thought I better take a picture if my geraniums before they get ruined.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

that's interesting about making cream cheese, can you bring your geranium indoors so it doesn't get hit by the storm? so pretty Happy friday and weekend we are still too hot and humid here ugh

It will be extremely hot today and predictions of thunder storms for today as well. Hope it doesn't turn into tornados too.

Plants that fit go under a patio table or chair weighed down against wind. Your geranium is too beautiful for a drenching rain.

Good tip on the cream cheese, thank you
I have one lemon left. :)

I used to make cream cheese years ago and several different kinds with our cow milk. I've never tried it with garlic scapes. Yummy.

Wow on your geranium. It's gotten big. It was supposed to be sunny today but it turned out hot and muggy and then I was chased in by sprinkling rain. Not much but just enough to get me a bit wet while I was weeding tall weeds in my daylilies.
Although it sprinkled a bit, went to pick pickling cucumbers, enough for a batch of Bread 'n Butter pickles. Pickling season is already here.

Stay safe from tornados.
Hugs, Julia

Soooo, did you use that cream cheese in your blueberry cake? It looks as though you have blueberries mixed in with the cream cheese but I am having a difficult time imagining garlic scapes in the bread?? Your geranium is gorgeous! We were supposed to get thunderstorms yesterday and again today but nothing yesterday and, so far, nothing today. Extremely hot (95ยบ) and humid. Stay safe my friend.... ~Robin~

Oh I love garlic...that would be so delicious! And look at that geranium...I will try that this winter. I have 3, so I'll review your how-to's and see if I can have such good luck as you did! Mary

You are so clever. I never heard of anyone making their own cream cheese.
Gorgeous geranium. I think I will try to over winter mine ;-)

Wow, I didn't even know you could make cream cheese like that! Yum! We had storms come in today and my peppers took a hit but Jack's going to stake them and hopefully they will survive. Love those geraniums! You know how to save, redo, reuse! Good girl!

I wonder if the cream cheese recipe would work with 1% milk as I rarely have whole milk in the fridge. I'm with you on using items available in the fridge or pantry to come up with foods to enjoy and the cereal topping on the blueberries was a great one. I may try something similar with a box of cinnamon cereal that I am really not enjoying on its own.

I don't think I ever would have thought of revamping cream cheese!
