Gifts

Work has been a bit stressful lately (7 more weeks!)
I came home to flowers on the porch. What a good husband.

I also received other gifts today. 2 new rakes and a pair of new gardening gloves!

For some reason I could only find one of each of my gloves and all the right hand, but I was making do when husband said after lunch let's get some new gloves.

We did not clean up last fall for the first time I read so much about how it was important for the good bugs and bees to have the leaf cover. Well my wall garden was about 4 inches thick of leaves, wet heavy leaves. I felt overwhelmed but I just started. and I got a lot done. Very pleased with myself. I am out of the shower and TIRED!

My garlic is peeking out looking forward to seeing how well they did this winter.

The other great goal in this house is weeding through years of paper and sorting out what need to be saved and what needs to go. We are the great paper hoarders, but we are making headway.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Wow, you had a very productive weekend. I am trying to declutter our paper horde as well. It's an ongoing battle. I am so jealous of you only having seven weeks left until retiring. ;-) It was so nice of your husband to bring you flowers after a stressful week. I hope the new week brings good things! See you again soon!

Sure do LOVE my gloves!! It seems that different weeds grow during a dry season vs. wet season. As I noticed different weeds to pull this year. I'm not deep into gardening as you are and as I once was but do what needs to be done.
I have a cross cut paper shredder for certain documents and a regular straight shredder for papers not having personal information.

I have sooo many leaves to clean up too-no where here to compost them, so will burn them in my fire pit once it warms back up and no wind.
that was sweet to be gifted flowers-and very special
Have a good week

I'm impressed with your garlics. I didn't plant any but I buy and use a lot of garlic.
Have fun gardening with your new gloves.

I say your husband gets a gold star! And after all that raking, I hope you get a good rest!

Beautiful gift!
New gloves each season are the Easter hat of gardening.

Sadly I am a paper hoarder, too :-( But not doing much about it.
Yeah for new garden gloves. It is pretty uncomfortable not having both a right and left hand glove.
Oh, those 7 weeks are going to fly by!!! Retirement is THE BEST!!!

I had made a feeble attempt at starting to clean up some of the stuff that didn't get taken care of in the fall and to herd some of the leaves that the 4 winds have deposited EVERYWHERE, but then s*#$ happened...i.e., SNOW. Another 11" of it. I know it won't last, but still... Love that quote about books - so very, very, true that. Have a great week.... ~Robin~

Yes, what a nice husband to leave you flowers after a tough day! The garlic looks like its doing well and with the amount we've been using, we should have a garden to plant some! The new gloves and rake will come in handy for outdoor spring cleanup.

Lovely flowers from a wonderful hubby! Those 7 weeks will go fast and then you'll have all the time to spend in the garden. I've been back to work for a year now and frankly I've been thinking after the summer I will call it quits. We'll have to see. I'm definitely going to cut down my hours during the summer. It's hard to keep up with all the yard work! We had snow today but nothing that stuck on the ground. Have a good week Cathy.

I have been forcing myself to de-clutter my house. First it was the living toon, now our bedroom. Now am working on our guest room. Tossing stuff out and sending stuff to the store to sell. I always leave my dead leaves stay over the Winter months. It was something my mom always dies and so do I now. Well we went from the 80's back to snow today. UGH Janice

It looks like you have been busy since Easter, enjoyed seeing the photos of the family. I need to get going on my yard, but lots of rain this month. I haven't had a real garden in years, so time to find a new area with more sun, since the pines took over my old one.
