Traditions

Do you practice family traditions?
My brother-in-law presented me with this tablecloth lots of years ago it has our family name on it. I love it for a lot of reasons, there have been lots of family Easter dinners eaten on this tablecloth. If it could talk it would have a lot to say, lots of conversations at this.
tablecloth. When I iron it each year just before Easter, it makes me smile every time.

Traditions are many in this family. And when we are long gone there will be memories and laughter about those days together hopefully.

Some of our traditions are very old and some are not. But all are important like this old basket left out for the Easter bunny to fill each year. See the size? Well, our Sweet B is an only grand and the bunny is very generous, and she is always so surprised at what she gets and always thankful.

This is an older picture and there are some people missing but look at those smiling faces we love being together!

Traditions do not have to be large noisy families. They can so many things. Tell me about your traditions.

I am off to count out plastic eggs, so each child is hunting for the same number of eggs!
Happy Easter!

What sweet traditions and memories... Love Miss B and the bunny pup LOL. Our family traditions have mostly dissipated, sadly, as our family has "dispersed." But there are memories. When we were younger, I remember the Saturday bath before Easter, watching Ed Sullivan, and anxiously sitting through church so we could come home and hunt for our baskets. Then , as we got older, working the Easter morning breakfast at church...then baking "resurrection rolls" and filling and hiding my own son's basket. Things have changed, but the reason has not and the memories will always remain. Happy Easter - enjoy your family time! ~Robin~

I couldn't agree more...I love traditions. I think they bind the family together, even generation-to-generation. Hold them dear, and pass them on...I love what you've shared with us. Here, no one is too "old" for an Easter basket so that's one thing I do, coloring eggs, handed-down dinner recipes, and monkey bread for breakfast. Enjoy your weekend...it'll be wonderful!

I wish all of you and your family a great Easter celebration. Family coming together makes it special. I had fun today getting little Easter gifts for my little great-grandkids.

Happy Easter.
Hugs, Julia

I was thinking about my own childhood traditions we had. My mother and I would wear our new Easter spring outfit complete with gloves and hat, then go to the Easter parade on the boardwalk. And of course Easter dinner with my maternal grandparents.
There was also the Easter egg dyeing when I was a kid and when I had a son. Then as we all aged the traditions seemed to fade away but not the reason we celebrate.
Don't understand why you scribbled over the name on the tablecloth because we all know what it is.
Happy Easter to you and as you celebrate with family.

Happy Easter Cathy! You have a lot of fun memories and I'm sure your Easter Sunday will be filled with lots of fun and family. Growing up we always had the Easter baskets but I don't remember ever hunting for eggs. Church was a big part of the season and being half Greek we always went to my Mom's cousin's home for a huge Greek celebration. Ever see the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? It was just like that! Anyway, hug that cute Miss B and enjoy her surprise at the gifts in the basket!

Now that all of the kiddos are gone our only tradition is to get together for a good meal. Love that you have the family tablecloth. More memories will be made on it again this year. Happy Easter to you and your family! Janice

Beautiful,
Sadly, with both of us not having family we don't have much in traditions-but I always make good foods for us during the holidays. this year for some reason I hadn't thought much about Easter at all and it's this weekend. My late Mom and little sister both had birthdays early April around Easter-so I think of them
Happy Easter enjoy! hugs

We don't have a lot of Easter traditions, as it is calving season and quite busy. I absolutely love that Dr. Seuss sign!

Beautiful family there.

Traditions here are gone with age, moving, loss of love ones.

You have some wonderful traditions. I love hearing about what different families do. This is lovely. (I think your Easter basket idea is terrific!)
