It sure is not feeling like winter in NH. More like fall in England foggy and wet, so wet! I am not loving it.
Husband is finally much better not perfect but so much better than he was. He has passed his time with a puzzle.
I spent some free time finishing off this little rug. I watched the first Harry Potter movie today for the first time. I now know why my sweet grand loves this series.
I took a bit of time to start to color plan a larger 4th of July rug.
I have plans to go away for 5 days of rug hooking in Maine with my roomie Donna so I needed to get a rug going. It is not until mid Jan but time goes fast as we all know.
We had the full cold moon. We saw it for just a bit until the clouds and fog moved in.

I went to the Dr with husband today. I quizzed her on the RSV vaccine and RSV in general. She said the vaccine is new they have no idea how long it will last so 3 months or 12 months no idea.
She does not want husband to get it for at least 3 to 4 months as he will have natural immunity for at least that long.
She also said that there is a lot of sickness this year and expects more after the holidays.
I know husband is very leery of going out in public right now and I can not say I blame him. He still is coughing and his head is all stuffed up but his breathing is so much better.

Good for you to start color planning a few weeks early. I do that but since I can't take my whole wool room with me sometimes my choices don't work. So it's great when teachers have a stash to buy from. Looking forward to seeing your work when you return home near the end of January.

I enjoy reading your rug hooking adventures. My mother made many amazing rugs in the '50s and early '60s -my brother grabbed all of them except for one-and she had given me the staircase hooked rug-amazing-that piece I gifted to my cousin since he has children that it can be passed down to. she learned the east coast way of hooking-cutting very thin strips of wool back then-most of what I have seen looks like 1/4" wide hers were very very narrow.
its been like spring here most of december. I got the rsv shot around october as our doctor was pushing for it since I have asthma figured it would be a good idea. I haven't gotten back to get the new shingles shots- we are not near people-except for me when I go food shopping.

I hope your husband starts feeling better soon, the flu going around is not fun. I am hoping we didn't pick anything up during the holidays and hopefully the last one gave us immunity for awhile. A rug retreat sounds like a fun getaway for the winter. The fog here is horrid, was afraid to go to the beaches since you couldn't see too far.

If I was your husband I'd be staying home, too! My infectious disease doc told me it was more important for me (with my lung issues) to get the RSV shot than even the Covid. Even if it doesn't last long, it gets us through the holidays.
We're having the same grim weather, although I THINK I'd rather have this than snow. At least, a lot of snow!

Good news he is feeling better. I think he has the right idea to stay home.
I've heard that RSV is going around in some areas in New England. Massachusetts maybe?
The problem I worry about, is folks not telling anyone they are sick.
I'm hearing too many sneezes and coughs when I'm grocery shopping.
Same glum weather here but, being used to the winters here in Nod, I am not minding it at ALL. Sweet little bunny rug - and I think I'm going to love your Americana rug. I was going to go down the lane to get some wool today but woke up with a nasty cold (flu?) of some sort and so didn't go. I had a dr appt a week ago and it seems I always catch something when I am there no matter how careful I try to be. The joys of a suppressed immune system I guess. Glad your husband is on the mend. ~Robin~

I personally would be leery about getting a new vaccine that they can't give you much information about...but that's just me.

I'm with Lauren on these new vaccines. My son has not felt well since he got the Covid vaccine.
I hope the weather cooperates for your 5-day hooking getaway. As I get older, I don't like to make plans to travel by car in winter as the weather is so unpredictable. I'm anxious to see some progress on this new rug. I started hooking the face on my rug but
haven't done much hooking. I've been working on the company books instead and wasting my time on the computer.

I agree with your assessment of not liking the non-winter weather in NH right now. While I am thankful there was no bad weather for our drive to visit family and friends in NJ this week, a bit of the white stuff would be nice this weekend, once we're back home. Glad to read that your husband is feeling better. There has been much debate over whether or not vaccines are the cure or the cause of some recent illnesses. Thankfully, to date, I have not had any negative reactions.

I'm glad your hubby is better. This sickness thing hangs on forever, especially the coughing. I hope it's over for him soon! We've had the warmth and fog also but the weathermen are saying beware of the middle of January when it will all come to an end. We'll see if they are right! It is winter after all. I'll do one more post on the 31st for this year. It's been a fast moving year for sure. In February it will be 16yrs of blogging and that just blows my mind. Have a nice weekend and Happy New Year Cathy! Maybe in '24 we'll finally be able to get together. I'm determined to make my New England trip happen!
Glad to read your husband is on the mend. It's that time of year when the viruses bloom! I caught a cold that Dan has had - cough is the major symptom. He got it just as family from Buffalo was coming. Tested and negative for Covid thankfully. Buffalo family just over a bout of Covid that kept granddaughters out of school for 5 days. But they were still coughing and dry heat doesn't help anyone's cough.

Hi Cathy! I love that you watched Potter. We enjoy those movies a great deal and are part of the holidays. Though this year I meant to start rewatching, I haven't done so yet.
Same here, doesn't feel like winter as far as snow goes and on Christmas it was 50F outside. Crazy stuff.

good news about your husband, i am feeling better as well!! i have not read nor watched harry potter but i have always wanted to!! fog makes for some really beautiful pictures...we had some beautiful fog but i never got outside to photograph it!!
