It Is The Small Things In Life

e
Husband is officially over Covid he tested negative.
To Celebrate he bought us donuts at one of our favorite shops a few towns over. It has been several years since we have had any from there. A very nice treat on with my morning coffee while sitting on the porch.

My lavender is very happy. I showed the wands I made I just may make some more. I have several plants that go around a stone wall.

And now that my old fashion roses are past. The fairy roses have started.

They will bloom like this until the frost this fall.
But no fragrance at all, just beautiful.

A very bad picture of a very good pizza. BLT pizza.
I had made my own crust and froze some so I thawed it out to see how it would be. It was perfect! So, I will make a double batch to have in the freezer for future pizza. (It can be cooked on the grill)

We went to a gathering to celebrate a wedding this past weekend. The daughter of my sweet friend who passed almost 5 years ago got married. Her mother would be over the moon. I was so pleased she asked us to join in the celebration but so sad her mom could not be. there. Her dad died very suddenly 18 years ago, so it is just her and her brother left. Very bittersweet

The rain is lightly falling tonight, my little veggie garden is happy.
I am off to bed I have work tomorrow.
Have a wonderful week.

Hi - so glad to hear that your husband is over Covid. That donut looks delicious - a good way to celebrate a negative test. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week. See you again soon!

Good morning Cathy, very good news that your husband is free of covid-how scary to have gone through this. Your garden blooms are lovely. my very very old lavender plant that I brought with me to the lake house had lots of blooms this year-I decided to not cut them this year-thought would give the plant a boost? not sure, will trim back this fall. I did plant a few more that were a smaller version that I picked up at the greenhouse in the spring. I love those little roses and how wonderful to have blooms til frost. I will look into those. hugs from the lake

I love lavender and will sometimes put a little lavender essential oil on my pillow and immediately go to sleep. Must admit the pizza photo looked a little weird but if it was tasty that's all that matters.

Glad to read the good news about your husband's recovery as I know that was certainly a worrisome time, Cathy. The wedding sounds like a nice way to remember your late friend and sure her daughter appreciated your attendance so much. There is nothing better than homemade pizza and now you have me thinking that I should make one with veggies we have in the fridge.

Your donut looks nice as so does your pizza. I am so glad your husband is well. Such pretty roses.
I can't believe its July and its going to go fast too. We are getting ready to leave and spend a week with our grands. I am so excited.
Have a lovely day.

Good news about your husband being better from Covid... I love your way of celebrating.

Your lavender and roses are doing well. My lavender is blooming more on one side for some reason. I only have one plant that my sister-in-law gifted me last spring. So far it's doing well.

Even though we had frequent rain, the ground was on the dry isde but we had more rain overnight and this morning and now the ground is definitely wet. It feels cool, not like summer.

Hugs,
Julia

Love a good doughnut...actually any baked thing LOL...but it is getting difficult to find any real bakeries in these parts these days...sad. I do love to bake, but don't want to make a whole batch of something for just me. And, hey...looks like you take your coffee like I do: mostly cream 😆 I plant lavender every year and it does well, but does not come back for me...even though I search out the perennial ones. Oh well, it's worth replanting every year.... That's sad about your friend's daughter - but it must have meant a great deal to her to have you there. ~Robin~ (Yay!! So glad your husband is in the clear!)

Our rain completely fizzled today. Boo hoo!
So happy hubby is well and you were able to attend a very special wedding. I'm sure the bride was thrilled you could share her day.
Beautiful flowers.

I'm so glad your hubby is good now and Covid free. I think I would celebrate with a goody too! My choice would be an apple fritter from a bakery near us that makes me think I need to celebrate something! Your gardens are lovely and I'm jealous over your lavender. I can't get it to grow here for some reason...probably related to our soil. Have a good week and enjoy this summer season on your beautiful porch!
