W.I.P.

I have more than my fair share of cookbooks and books in general.

But still I buy more. I need to weed out some of the books I have. But it is a W.I.P (work in progress)

My day lilies are in bloom I love them just wish they would last longer.

These are my fancy ones I have.

Now that the pictures are on here, I see how dark they are.
But I am getting to the border, so I had to make some decisions.

There will be one row (beauty line) then the border will be a mix of the two brown wools. Always a work in progress.

But our biggest W.I.P is our new waterfall. Now this was supposed to be something small easy to care for no big fuss.
But as you can see husband's motto is "Go big or go home!"

As you can see it is very close to our porch. It will sound so nice to sit and listen to when it is done.

My great pleasure is to get magazines in the mail, get a big coffee and flip through the shiny pages. But I have cut out some of them. They have just gotten too expensive. I will keep a few favorites, but it is time to cut some out.

I will end with a smile.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Cathy, looks like you have made allot of progress on this hooking piece. oh the waterfall sounds awesome-men and their toys-smiles It will sound lovely and should attract some birds too.
I have too many books too, I did get all the outlander books sold-I wanted to read them but that huge stack of very big books was daunting. I have another author I haven't read yet either so am going to sell those too. have a good evening still 100 degrees here at 7:30 pm

Don't start me on having too many books. But I can't stop myself either!

My book weeding is like yours, a work in progress. I buy more books and still have hundreds I aim to read. The Susan Branch book sounds good, I have a small collection of quote books and of poetry books. That waterfall will be mighty and lovely to listen to.

The idea of the rippling waterfall of my pond was wonderful for a few years until after my ex left. Then it was me cleaning out the filters, then a pump would go bad and I'd have to replace it. At least you can enjoy the beauty and sounds without all the work.

I've cut way back on magazines too, even rug hooking ones. Only ones I get now are ATHA and RHM and rethinking RHM. Am looking forward to seeing the entire rug with the beauty line and border.

You will enjoy that waterfall especially on a hot summer's day.
I'm good at book weeding - take it to the free library just next door.

That is an awesome waterfall. Your flowers are so pretty. I have so many books, still! I have taken books to my daughter and DIL and still I have books. I took 25 boxes to the used book store. I think they multiply in the night. I have all of my cookbooks and taste of home too.
I love your wool. It looks like now you are having a nice summer.

I love books, both old and new, and have collections that I would never part with. I enjoyed the Susan Branch books so much that I just had to order her newest one. I am expecting it any day. The sound of falling water is so peaceful. We had a small pond and waterfall at our old house which we enjoyed so much.

I take lots of books to the thrift store including many of the gooseberry patch ones that I always loved but got too many of! I love magazines and only get 2 now. They are cheaper when you get a subscription though. Plus Sam's club magazines are discounted. I'm addicted! Your waterfall will be fabulous! I think your hubby likes projects and how proud he'll be when it's done and everyone loves it! We'll all be jealous! Have a good rest of week Cathy!

Such pretty lilies...and that pond/waterfall is going to be amazing. My husband made a teeny little pond out back many many years ago... We had a HUGE rock put in for a waterfall, but he never got that part of it working. 😬 It went when we redid the backyard, but the rock, of course, is still there. I had a fountain I loved to pieces...but it started leaking (another story in and of itself...sigh), and I have not been able to find anyone to repair it. I never realized I would miss its sound so much. And, gee...there's really a thing like having "too many books"??? 🤣 ~Robin~

I can only imagine how nice it will be to have that little gurgling sound coming from your waterfall into the pond.

I have gotten rid of boxes upon boxes of books, magazines, and cookbooks and only kept the ones I used on a regular basis and I don't miss any of them. Now if my husband would do the same, it would make dusting a lot easier.

I stopped buying magazines several years ago and realized that it's just a money-making venture for those big publishing companies. I'm working on being satisfied with what I've got which is still way too much anyway.

Enjoy your weekend. I'd love to see your little fountain working.

Hugs,
Julia

What a big project indeed! It will be just wonderful once completed. You may even have some visitors come and stop by. I use to take the stamen of one daylily and rub it into another one and the next year would have a totally different color. I loved doing it! Janice

Is Distilled Genious a good book? I have ALL of her other books and not sure if i would like this one! I have been to her Martha's Vineyard home (just stalking, no invitation!) and have followed her for years - quite an interesting life!
