An Anniversary

We went to a mountain we haven't been to in 40 years.

The reason we would go there all those years ago is there was a fire tower on the top, and husband knew the spotter so we would go some days and visit him and take in the view. Oh how the times have changed. There is no more fire tower and there are very well marked trails and building with lots and lots of people. The view was still wonderful in spite of the bad weather.

On our way to the beach we stopped at a yard sale at a little store I love to shop at. There were lots of craft things. Each piece in this picture was .25 each. All never opened. Click on the picture there are some amazing things!

Everything in this picture was 1.00 each! my glue gun is getting very tired so I got a couple of the little ones for a buck each!

And this picture everything was a total of 8.00 including the quilted bag. There are more things that belong in this picture but I missed them what a deal!!!!

OK enough of the yard sale. I took my buddy Donna and headed to the yarn store. I have wanted to learn to knit. I can do a couple of things since 8th grade and have not progressed at all. So I was assured that this scarf/shall was easy, so here I go!!! I will watch a you tube video on this and then sit in a very quiet room and give it a try. I do not have a lot of confidence going into this but I am determined! It has been one of my retirement goals to learn to knit . Since I have a little over a year to go before retirement I thought I should get started.

Today is our anniversary. So many years have slipped by that were just a blur. When I see these young faces I think, you two have no idea what you are in for! If I could do it all again, I would truly do life with him again. It has not all been easy, Oh no it has not been easy at all! But we always supported each other unconditionally. Whatever we chose to pursue in life we could count on the other to be there. I guess that is the best you could ask for in the end I think.
****
I over indulged this weekend, oh boy did I! I hate to get on the scales in the morning but, tomorrow is a new day.
Have a wonderful week!!!

Congratulations on your 40th Wedding Anniversary. How wonderful that you would do it all over again for a lifetime with your man.

You'll be kept busy with all those craft things. Good luck with learning knitting. There's a lot of youtube video and books out there. I'm sure you'll enjoy this new hobby.
Hugs,
Julia

Happy Anniversary you two! It's amazing how time does fly and when you're young you think you have all the time in the world. Now we know to enjoy each day and not waste a moment. You did just that by traveling a little and going to a special place on the mountain! The store finds were amazing. It would make great Christmas gifts for someone who likes to craft. As prices are going sky high finding bargains is a must! Have a good week and good luck with knitting. I never learned how to do that. My Mom could crochet but I didn't learn that either! I guess I'll just stick to photography and blogging during retirement! Take care Cathy!

Good luck learning to knit. I tried and failed. Beautiful pics of the mountain and yes you did score on some goodies! Janice

Lucky for you to have your true companion 'no matter what'. Wish I had one of those. Just the other day I pulled out a knitted project which was started several years ago and the knit side went smoothly but the darn purl side felt quite awkward when it was easier years before.

Great yard sale finds! I love yard sales. Happy anniversary. From the picture, I am guessing you were married about the same era when my husband and I said "I do" back in 1979. Wow, married life is a rollercoaster sometimes, but like you, I would do it all again. Hope you have a great week!

What a sweet photo of you and your husband back in the day. To have someone truly supportive is pretty rare, so you lucked out! And you lucked out at that yard sale, too. I can't believe the prices. Especially the punch needle tools!

Happy Belated Anniversary! Yes, I would say to have that in a marriage is pretty much having it all. The mountain view is stunning...but I am sure it would "take my breath away" (literally) in person. Quite the haul in the crafting supplies. Good luck with the knitting adventure! My cousin taught me how to make slippers when I was a child and I made several pair and never since took up those kind of needles again. Not sure why....I guess, perhaps, because there never seemed to be enough hours in the days to do all the other hobbies in my world. ~Robin~

That looks like a beautiful place to hike and see the views, what mountain is that. I have been looking for camps for weekends, but I guess they are all full too. Great finds, thrift stores are the best, we have a small one that sells nice crafting supplies at low prices. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! I would have loved that sale! Everything right up my alley. Knitting is something I've tried, but just can't get my fingers, hands to work the needles. I do like to crochet.
