A wonderful Fall

It has been an amazing fall. weather most days 70 with sun and light breeze. 

Usually by this time we have lost all the leaves and we are bundled up in jackets and wooly sweaters. I am not complaining for sure, we have not had to put our heat on once yet! But shall we pay for a warm fall with a wild winter? Only time shall tell.

My granddaughter Miss B came today to help me decorate for fall and halloween. 

She was funny as she pulled each piece out of the box.

She loves halloween as long as it is not to scary, I am with her!

Next weekend we get to have her overnight so her parents can go to a halloween party yeah for us!

This milkweed just waiting for a breeze to send all the seeds in the air reminds me of a million wishes. 

My mother and grandmother use to say

"If wishes were horses then beggars would ride" 

I had no idea what that meant as a kid, I just knew that they would not be granting that wish.

I told my daughter I had used up my wishes for a lifetime,as I have been blessed with a lot of wishes coming true. 

She did not agree she felt we should  keep on wishing. 

We raised a wise daughter.

What A Difference A Week Makes...

The weather has been weird. Very warm and the foliage  

hasn't been as pretty as normally. Husband and I took a little 

drive north still very pretty.

Even if the color was past, the mountains are always beautiful.

We went to Littleton NH they have a wonderful Main Street. Such a sweet wonderful town in the north country.

The color is still pretty good near us, and so warm and wonderful.

While watching the football game we had the windows open and the curtains were blowing in the breeze so wonderful  for this time of year.

During football on tv, I hooked a bit It is starting to come along. 

We have also been watching the first season of Call of the midwife

We have been watching this series for some time but we had never watched the first year so we are enjoying it.

On my walk today I found this yikes!,but so pretty when you think about it. Pretty high up in that tree, so does that mean lots of snow?

I have the new farmer's almanac and that is what they predict so I guess we will have to wait and see.

I have a new phone and I am having a hard time with the camera. I can not transfer the pictures to the computer. I will have to find someone to help me. Any ideas? Samsun Galexy J7.

Another great week of weather ahead I am going to enjoy it as long as it lasts, I know what is coming!

Husband is feeling better and we are getting back into our routine.

If I have any advice you should know is never take the first Dr's advice, if there is a little something in your gut saying this is not right. Ask for a second opinion you are the boss of your care.

Unexpected Miracles

The weather has been so weird 80's and humid my gardens are 

are still blooming

We are usually at peak this weekend for color

but there are still lots of trees to turn.

My daughter bought the bracelet in the front for my birthday

last year. I have worn it most every day. 

On the back unexpected Miracles is printed. Well this past week we got one. Husband had a major health crisis very long story short he is going to be ok. While my daughter and I were waiting for husband to come back from a test we walked into the hospital gift store and found the second bracelet a tiny acorn. Which was perfect. It came with a card that said unexpected blessings. I know it is only

a bracelet but every time I saw it or touched it would remind me to believed it would be ok. We have much to be thankful for.

I haven't had much time for hooking but I did get a tiny bit done

Now hopefully I can sit and hook a bit.

The sky could not be bluer today it was a perfect

fall day. Beautiful 60's and now it is cool.

I took a nice long walk up and down lots of hills.

My legs are telling me all about it tonight.

We are starting to get color but with the awful heat we had it cofused the trees, we should have more color by now. We are going into the 80's by midweek ick.

My hydrangea is so happy this year I am waiting for the perfect picking time.

Well I finally have another piece on the frame.

I took little designs from different magazines and made a small piece to hook. I had also picked up a bag of coverlet pieces (they are not old) from a country store a while ago. I had no idea what to do with them, I do now! So that will be my border/binding when I am done hooking.

Fall?

We had several nights that the skies, even in the mountains, were beautiful.

While I was away last week my daughter celebrated a birthday.

So when I got home we made plans for a spa visit as her gift. It is in

a very nice hotel so my friend, daughter and I went on Friday we 

used the outside hot tub after and really enjoyed the massages.

We think once a month this winter is what we should do to make  to the winter feel shorter, sounds great!

Today husband and I headed to a local farm for some

muffins, a pumpkin or two, and cider belly donuts. It was so hot 90's

which is crazy for us this time of year, I was happy to get home.

I could not imagine going through the corn maze but they were busy.

A woman brought in bags of magazines, really great magazines, to share at work!

I do not care if they are older so I grabbed a stack for home.

I love Early American Life .

Last week was hard to get back to work from a week off but I lived through it. Back to work tomorrow.  We are in for a very hot week.

It is like a hot August here, I think mother nature forgot we turned the calendar. I don't like 90's and humid. I just couldn't pick up a hook this week.

The Sun Has Set On Another Week....

My hooking buddy and I headed out to Star Island a day early

to wait for the rest of the hookers.

I know I have told you before but Star Island is about 7 miles off the coast of NH. 

It is an amazing place that about 30 rug hookers gathered to have

a few days of peace and quiet. To just hook!

When they ring this bell it means the meals are ready to eat.

No clean up, no cooking, just heaven.

There was a topic of conversation about posting someone else's rug on line. So I will not be posting the amazing work that was going on but I will post mine. I am now going to rip the sky out I do not like it at all. So stay tune.

In the middle is Liseanne Miller of cushings. The four of us that went to Star Island took a little road trip the next day. She was having her fall open house we all spent plenty and lots of wonderful inspiration you have to get to Maine and visit, she is doing amazing things.

Our wonderful friends lent us their beach house for the rest of the weekend. We were fogged in a couple of partial days and nights but..

we also had amazing sunsets and walks on the beach.

We met up with friends and family in the area had lobster and really enjoyed ourselves. But sad to say tomorrow is back to work.

I am a little burned out of work so it will be hard to go back.

The Ocean Is Calling

I made this sign. My friend gave me the starfish then I glued 

an old hook I had and some sea glass I found while on Star Island last year. Paint on some letters bingo you have a sign which I will be able to add my sea glass to in the future.

I started a new rug. It is a pattern I have had a while and as you

can guess it is a Deanne pattern. I will take this to work on when I go to Star Island again for my hooking retreat! We are sneaking out a day early because we love it so much there. Can't wait!!!

We went to a family wedding on Sunday. This is my beautiful daughter and her handsome husband (Miss B's parents) and of course my handsome amazing husband.

And this is a picture of the bride and groom. she is such a beautiful

girl and her new husband is handsome too so they make a wonderful couple.

So that catches you up on what I have been doing. A little reading a little walking, a lot of working. I am more than ready for my week off.
