Church Sale Season

A red shoulder hawk, or coopers hawk, hung out one morning. They all knew he was there; it was dead quiet outside. I believe he is a juvenile.
My beautiful azalea. When you go near it all you hear is buzzzzz. The bees are dancing with joy.
I had a bag of oyster crackers that needed something. I flavored them with dry ranch and dill spices – yum!
This rug has been done for some time but not bound. I decided I wanted to frame it like sweet Davey Degraf in VT does. Husband helped, and I do like it. My first 3 cut piece.
I finished my Halloween piece. I will hunt the thrift stores for a frame.
My granddaughter, aka Sweet B, wanted to do a tea junk journal. I gave her a water color journal, and she went right to work. She wants it to be about the teas she and I try.
Sweet B has an amazing soul and heart. I love her to the moon and back.
Church sale time, and I found these. Do you know what they are used for?
When you need to roll out a dough to a certain thickness, it measures it for you. I have 3 different thicknesses: a find for $1.00.
I also found this lamp shade. I have a lot of them, all found at thrift stores or sales. They go so well in our house.
I took my car to the garage for an oil change and I look down and I never put shoes on! I was mad about it; I did not want outside germs on my slippers. Husband said I was just like the college kids scuffing around in slippers.
          ********
I had the nicest Mother's Day. My daughter and son-in-law hosted a brunch for us and her in-laws. My son-in-law did a great job. It was a lovely way to celebrate.
           **********
Back to the eye doctor tomorrow for my checkup. I can't wait to get back to normal.

I once went to school with two different shoes on. This was when I was a teacher not a student. I walked over once to Bone Builders when it was next door at the old store, soon to be library.

Should I finished that sentence. I wore slippers to Bone Builders.

I went to the Dr in slippers last year. I was so embarrassed!
The rug looks great framed.
I like your tea journal and like doing it with Sweet B even better!

Your azaleas are so pretty. I used to have a big bush at my old house in the same color. The hawk is a grand bird, and when I see one, I smile. Your snowy picture frame is wonderful. Your Mother's Day brunch sounds like a perfect time. I wish you a good May week.

After hooking my Rotties in #3 I swore I'd NEVER hook another whole rug in #3 again. Then came Mother with a Fish Bowl and hooked her face in #2 and #3. But that's it for me now unless it is an eye or an outline. No more rugs hooked in mostly narrow cuts ever again.

Your azaleas are beautiful! I've been impatiently waiting for my rhododendrons to bloom...they usually are right behind the magnolia...but the magnolia has been done for a couple of weeks now already and still nothing. Everything is so very far behind here. I love your framed rug. I had always wanted to frame my whale rug but I haven't a clue about where to start so it will likely remain rolled in a ball downstairs. The tea journal is a fun idea! Did you paint the title on it? Funny about the slippers. I think it has happened to us all at some point. Worse than that for me was wearing two different colored shoes (I had two pairs the same except in different colors) and I had no time to change them out before going to court. Glad you had a nice Mother's Day. My DIL made a little brunch for me as well. It was so sweet of her to do.

Your 3 cut rug is amazing and the frame really sets it off.
Too funny about the slippers! Like Robin I have worn 2 different shoes on a couple occasions 🤦‍♀️

Happy belated Mother's Day. I did that once wearing my slippers outside. Plus I once went to work once with one black and blue shoe on. UGH No azaleas here yet. All the Spring flowers here are blooming later than usual. What a fun idea for miss sweet B on the tea journal. Janice

What a terrific week! I love that rug -- it's fantastic. Love the frame -- a great idea. So much fun in this post -- Miss B's tea journal is terrific and I love those blooms. Thanks for the reminder of zesty oyster crackers. (And I wear my slippers out all the time, at least in the driveway, yard and garage. That's why I got some with thin little soles. The ones Carson gave me for Christmas are knit ones so those mostly stay inside!)

Happy bleated Mother's Day. Glad you had a good one. I have done that myself!

Awww...That is the sweetest idea for a journal! One she will look back on with love for the memories the two of you made! I love that! Your Azaleas are beautiful! My grandmother grew Azaleas and I always thought they were beautiful. Good find at the church sale! Those rolling pin rings will come in handy for sure!

I couldn't help but giggle out loud about your slippers. Lol! It really isn't funny BUT I know the feeling. I do not like wearing my house shoes or house sandals out of the home because of germs. BUT one time..... I was rushing to get to church and looked down after I had greeted a lot of people and realized I had my house shoes on. MORTIFIED! LOL! As a pastor's wife I was humbled to say the least. LOL! I just laughed it off and we all have a GOOD LAUGH about it now.

Your azaleas are lovely.
The framed rug turned out beautifully.
Mother’s Day brunch sounded like a wonderful celebration, and I’m glad you enjoyed it.
And oh, the slippers story made me laugh-- I think we’ve all had those moments of stepping out the door in something unintended!

I have inside and outside shoes, but the insiders have been out a few times. Now I am worried about germs. I love your Sweet B's tea journal idea.

I also went out wearing my slippers but they were black suede and I doubt anyone noticed. I do try not to wear them outside but it's so tempting to run out just for 2 seconds :)
A tea journal sounds like a lovely idea!
Your rug looks very good in a frame!!

That's a beautiful azalea! I have a bright red one but for some reason this season it only popped out about 6 blooms on that big azalea. Not sure what happened there. I'm glad your second eye went well and I hope you have complete healing soon. I laughed about your slippers. I did the same thing once when I went for gas. I got out and looked down and saw I was wearing slippers. I said to Jack, "Hey, I look like a Walmart customer!"

It’s a pity that azalea blooms are so short-lived as they are beautiful like yours. Your Mother’s Day brunch sounded wonderful. I have never worn slippers outside the house, but know that many people do and not accidentally like yourself. You had some great thrift store finds.
