Tornado Warning!

Sat morning, we headed to Portsmouth NH with friends for the
pocket garden tour.

This was a tour of gardens in the city neighborhoods of Portsmouth.
There were all kinds of gardens.

I thought these pods were so interesting.

Some that were so groomed by professionals. Then there were others that were jumbled and lovely and fun! Those I loved the most.
I took lots and lots of pictures of plants I am interested in getting. And then other ideas like fairy lights in all the window boxes!

Portsmouth is an old fishing village that has turned into a very up scale expensive place. But it is still lovely to tour.

A wonderful firemen's fountain by one of their fire houses.
We ended the day with lunch down on the water by the tugboats delicious.

This morning, we headed out for brunch to celebrate husband's birthday a couple of days early. There was live music and wonderful food but better company.

And usually, out of this window there is an amazing view of Mt Chocorua. But it was all clouded in.

After we got home, we kept getting tornado warnings, pouring rain, and thunder rolling around our mountains. So, I spent the afternoon working on my second cushion for the glider on the porch. And chatting on messenger with my sweet friends. We were all under the tornado warnings. I also watched Hercule Poirot on Britbox.
*****
I hope the rain stops I need to get into the gardens to weed and there is some housework to be done this week. Yoga in the morning and then I will get a few groceries. So boring but a good boring lol.
Have a wonderful week!

We were under a tornado watch that was never raised to a warning. Most wicked of the storms passed us by yesterday. We got an inch of rain though.

The garden tour looks lovely. And SO are your glider cushions. I love the fabric you chose. I'm so glad that the tornadoes didn't materialize. I hate those warnings!

we all have the same "boring" and yet we find this fun!! the gardens you toured look lovely. our town does it in july and it is too hot for me to partake!! we had warnings also, up until about 10 pm, it was only a little bit windy!!

When I hear of tornado warnings on my smart device it scares the bejesus out of me. Cushion making could be your next profession, lol.

Sure glad the tornado warnings didn't result in an actual tornado for you.
I just love the fabric you're using to make the cushions for your glider💗💗💗.
Uneventful (boring) days can be so enjoyable, especially in good weather. I never get tired of sitting outside!!

Tornado warnings can be unnerving. So glad you didn't get an actual tornado. I love the cushion for your glider. Looks like you had a nice weekend getting together with family and friends! Have a good week. See you again soon!

The tour looks like it was wonderful. I'd like to take one one day but part of me is afraid I'd come home dejected or full of crazy ideas and go on a plant spree when I can't take care of what I have now. Oh to have a professional gardener! Scary about the tornado warnings. 'Tis the season unfortunately. Our weather has been bouncing from barely in the 60's for highs to 80's so I'm surprised there hasn't been more warnings than there have been here. I've seen/experienced enough tornados already to last me for the rest of my lifetime. Well, actually, 1 was more than enough. Your cushion looks wonderful! Brave of you to do that fancy piping finish. Happy Birthday Wishes to your hubby! ~Robin~

Your life is anything but boring. I would love to go on a garden tour. It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm having difficulty looking after my own flower gardens. Never seems to be enough hours or energy to keep them neet and tidy anymore.

I pray that you will be safe from those scary tornados. It rained all day Sunday here, and again this afternoon. I'm ready for the sun. We really needed that rain but I took the day to run errands in town and even had a long nap.

Happy Belated Birthday to David.
Hugs,

Julia

The gardens looked terrific – I agree, I like the wild jumbled ones best too! I can’t believe how many tornado warnings we’ve had this year already, with instructions to go to the basement - too stressful. Hopefully you’re relaxing now and putting your feet up!

we also had tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings going off the other day, Cathy, however, as much as we expected downpours, none came. Your garden tour and lunch looked like a wonderful outing. We have always enjoyed our visits to Portsmouth.
