Out To Lunch

I finally got another bottle of mineral oil to oil my wooden utensils.
I love how they look after they are all oiled. They work hard day to day.

And well you know another day another thrift store.
A juicer isn't it darling!!! My old one went in the give away box.
Now I probably use one 3x a year but look how cute.

Husband and I decided to drive north to Littleton for lunch. We had to go through a notch in the mountains and weather gets caught in there all the time, a foggy ride.

It was chilly and raining in Littleton not to much fun but lunch was good. On the way home we see that on our side of the mountains it is sunny and 10 degrees warmer. (we are an hour apart)

Still working on lady liberty, I am ripping out the dark red for the lighter red and getting rid of the yellow. Not sure what else I will change but it's a start.

I made chai flavored banana bread and before I could get it out of the oven I dropped it ugg. I always make 2 small ones instead of one big bread, only one got dropped still good though.
For those that wanted the recipe for the donuts I made last post they are here at king Arthur Flour. Also I had some people who had a hard time getting them out of the pan. I used crisco just a light skim on the pan no sticking, I do not like the sprays they leave a sticky residue.

No big plans ahead we have been watching Broadchurch on the free Roku channel. We have watched 5 of 8 so don't tell me the ending please! I am on the edge of my seat. The Scottish actor David Tenant is so good! And there is a new season of Vera, oooh I lead an exciting life!
Have a great week!

I signed on for Britbox and I am addicted! I have watched a plethora of British mysteries, all of the "A Touch of Frost", all of Vera, not her latest season, and am currently watching season six of "Shetland". There were a couple other series whose names I have forgotten. I would be embarrassed to tell how many shows I have been known to watch in an evening, sometimes into the wee small hours. It is a sickness, I tell you.

You had me at wooden spoons 💕
Also, my mom and gma both make the potholders like you show with your bread.
Sweet reflections.

There are so many good British series! Have you watched Luther? We really enjoyed that.
Crazy weather. Super foggy in Ohio today. In the 40's but so damp it felt much colder.
All the wooden spoons look beautiful oiled.

Hi Cathy! I missed the donut post but went back to check it out. Lordy, you got some great finds at your thrift store stop. The mixer was a real score. Those donuts look amazing too! Yum! Our weather has been the usual up and down, rain and shine. I actually got a little sunburn the other day when it was 72de but now we're expecting snow on Sunday. No wonder my neck hurts from all that whiplash! Have a good Thursday!

I LOVE Broadchurch! Yes, the lighter red is a bit more lively. I think you'll be pleased with that. And I love that juicer. The points make a LOT of sense!

In our household, we always eat our mistakes so I am sure the dropped bread was also enjoyed in your home, Cathy 😋 Since we have a never-used donut pan, I appreciated the link to the King Arthur recipe. The wqeather forecast for Sunday looks dismal so homemade donuts would be a good thing!

Sorry about your Banana loaf getting dropped. Luckily it's still delicious I'm sure. I once dropped a cheesecake as I took it out of the oven. I was so glad it landed right side up and only cracked a little. ( I covered it with Cool Whip).

The mountains are beautiful! And the bread, no worries, it still tastes great - sounds like a really good recipe. And such a fun juicer! Enjoy the weekend...rain, rain here, Mary

I always love your thrift finds and love that juicer, so unique. We went to Littleton when the kids were little and ate at Polly's pancake house.
