Finding A Little Christmas

I have several Byers Choice Carolers this is a fireman that I bought when my husband was a fireman. While I don't have many displayed this year, I do have him on my mantle with the faux candles that look pretty real.

I found this rug at a thrift store many years ago. This is one of those you can throw in the washer when dirty. I think I paid 5.00 for it and it is a 5x7 rug!.
Festive!

I am wearing my Christmas pins every day to work. I do have quite a collection
I get compliments every time I wear them. Just some vintage Christmas pins I love to wear.

And of course, my little village I always put-up Thanksgiving Day.

I baked
Cookies lots and lots of cookies to give away.

I was given this CD today it is to honor a person I have supported in different ways for 19 years. His love of Christmas music is legendary.
David Lockwood was the music director at a private school in our area. Brint's dad was headmaster there for many years. The connection runs deep.

So, this year Brint and David Collaborated and came up with this CD for a fund raiser for the agency that supports Brint and the agency I work for. I do not believe that I am crossing any HIPPA lines as this is very out there it has been advertised in the paper and online.
It is a lovely collection of Christmas piano music if you should want one email me and I will tell you how.

We are in line for some snow starting late Thursday night into early Sat morning. 6 to 12 inches.
Fine by me I plan on staying home if the driving is bad.
We went out yesterday and finished up our Christmas shopping a little to wrap and I am done. I just have to bind my owl I hooked.
Have a wonderful week.

You are the queen of $5 steals LOL! I guess I don't get out enough as I can recall any particularly amazing deals I've scored. I will definitely look into the cd... Battening down the hatches for a nasty storm. We have had a wicked ice storm all day...but it is to change to all snow tonight with 7-11" expected. Grrr. I just may be stuck here until May? June?? ☹️ ~Robin~

Those candles do look real. I have a couple electric realistic ones too and haven't put them out in years. I love piano music and used to play a Richard Clayderman CD all the time. I still have a collection of vintage cheap jewelry which I saved to use when I made dolls. Bet I've still got some Christmas pins in there still. Uh, unless those were some of the items I gave to the thrift shop when cleaning out my sewing room. But there is still at least a truck load of stuff which needs to be purged.

That's a lot of sugar cookies. I'm sure they will be well received.

I got the tree up, the lights and the bead garland, and some sprigs of baby's breath here and there but no glass ornament on it yet, and I kind of like it plain.

Like you, I put a few decorations at a time. Eventually, it will get done. We got about 4 inches of snow and some of it melted but we still have a little bit left.

Staying home when it storms is wise.
Hugs,
Julia

Did I miss something? Who is Brint?
That was quite the bargain on the rug.

Those cookies are so pretty. They look quite labor intensive and worth it! Very impressive. Love your bargain rug and your fireman caroler and village. You're looking rather spirited! Take care with this upcoming snow. I don't think we're getting slammed with this one, but another is on the way.

I love your pin, bet the others are pretty too.
12 inches of snow - I'd stay in as well.
Lots of cookies there. ☺

Christmas made it to your house in the form of cute decor and yummy cookies! Throw in the music and snow and call Hallmark movies! We're not expecting snow but the cold is coming. Today was sunny and 50! I took advantage with a nice walk with the dog. I know you'll hunker down in your cozy home so enjoy the season!

We finished our Christmas shopping last evening as well. Went to our favorite Italian restaurant for dinner too. Have not baked one Christmas cookie. Thankfully my mom did and will be bringing some to our house next week as she stays with us for the holiday. Janice

Cathy, you hook rugs? Wow! Those cookies look gorgeous—a most welcome gift, I'm sure.

I have things I always put out, memories and special to me, a few new things and a lot more bright and glitter for the boys. Those candles are really nice, haven't see ones like those. I have a set in the windows, the flame flickers a bit but still look fake, but I like having lights in the window and they are remote, so easy to turn them all on, at once.

I must have missed reading that your husband was also a firefighter as was mine in NJ and hope he is feeling better. We also have several firemen themed ornaments, but this year kept our tree decorations minimal, which worked out well. It made us realize we have put up more than needed in previous years. I also have been baking cookies to give away and only have one more to do, biscotti, for a neighbor’s get together this week. No snow in Nashua, NH, this week, only rain (sigh).

You got quite a bit of snow, looks like we have more rain coming, but at least it will be over for the weekend. I do love going to thrifts and we have some good antique ones, always find something special, but no time this year. What a special thing for her to say and a special meaning for you and your daughter.
