Snow Snow Snow

We got about a foot of very heavy wet snow!
I had to shovel the end of our driveway just enough to get my car out early Sat morning the banking was over my knees. Slowly but surely, I got it done. My shoulders were aching after, but it felt good that at this age I have the strength and stamina to do that! More in the forecast for Friday.

I talked about my Christmas pins last post well here they are. The candles in the middle actually blink. I wear the pins all season. Click on the picture to make it larger.

Today husband and I headed out to the candy store to pick up some Christmas candy for a gift. On the way back we stopped at a shop we had not been in in many years. They now have little vintage booths and because I don't have enough Christmas packed away that I haven't gotten out in several years I decided to purchase all the choir boys for 15.00. When will I ever stop??? But they look cute on my windowsill, and I like them.

Sweet B and family paid a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Santa.
On the 15th it was 14 years since my mother passed. My daughter was very close with her grandmother and mentions her often.
Mrs. Clause gave my daughter a little gift and said something that only her grandmother would remember. A little Christmas magic? I think it was. Makes me teary just thinking about it.

Today Santa was in Maine taking his deer for a walk to get them in shape for the big night.
While we were out today, we had lunch at a little Italian Bistro. the owner is a young woman from Florance.  It was very good! I also bought myself a croissant to have with my afternoon coffee.
***
Have a wonderful Happy Week.

I love your little pins and the choirboys you purchased for your window sill. They look just lovely there. That is so sweet that your daughter feels such a connection to her grandmother, and that Mrs. Santa knew about that. Christmas magic indeed! Looks like you got the snow we had earlier last week. Stay warm and dry and have a good week and a Merry Christmas.

The snow is very pretty but you can keep it, lol... I love that blue snowflake in your window. It's been raining and snowing here for 2 days with no accumulation. Just slush so I won't complain.

I love your choir boys. What a lucky find. I'm sure they are worth much more than you paid. They will look nice on your windowsill.

What a sweet picture of Miss B.'s family.

Please don't overdo it with the shoveling of heavy wet snow.

Hugs,
Julia

I never did get up to my sewing room to look thru my vintage jewelry but know that I did have some of my mother's Christmas pins and probably a few of mine. But where would I wear them since I don't work plus live in sweat pants, lol?
Wow wonder woman, good for your shoveling. At 81 I wouldn't even attempt to compete but rather know my limits.

We got 18 inches here. Trees down caused power outages. Luckily we got it back in less than 12 hours but still others are without.
Nice Christmas decor.

I am reading about the snow that all of you on the east coast have gotten-that's allot of snow. we are very very cold here but thank goodness no snow yet-I am the one that does all the shoveling-hard on this hill and steps now.
all of your pins reminded me of my Mom's pins-she a huge collection of them including lots of christmas pins. she worked as the secretary at a primary school and all the children loved her pins.
I love your choir boys collection-nice find enjoy your croissant tomorrow hugs

What a magical scene with Santa and his reindeer! I love making chicken salad sandwiched on warm croissants! You can keep the snow, but am afraid we are going to get some later in the week. Janice

I love the pic of Santa and his reindeer! We have friends in Maine and they always post the best stuff and funny pictures. Sounds like you're very ready for Christmas and those choir boys are so cute I would have had to get them also...even though I took 4 boxes of decorations to Goodwill in November! A foot of snow! Yikes! We're getting some this weekend but the jury is still out as to how much. I feel bad for those trying to get to destinations. Have a good rest of your week!

I would have bought those choir boys as well and they do look lovely on your windowsill, Cathy, so you did well. We haven't had any snow (yet) and rain is our forecast, but we are leaving for RI and not sure what the weather will be like for Christmas. The holidays are bittersweet for myself as well as my mother passed away on Dec 22, about 8 years ago.
