Ham bone soup

We got about 2 inches of snow that didn't last long because the rain came with lots and lots of wind!

We always have ham for Easter with lots of other things.
I took the ham bone home to make a hearty soup
I had this bag of assorted beans and lentils put it all in a crockpot with some chicken stock and veggies....

Voila! a little cheese and a scoop of sour cream and a cheese biscuit
a perfect dinner. I will freeze the extra soup in small portions for later.

My rug is hopping along. I got a flower done and his back leg.
I am so happy with how it is coming out.

It was a busy few days, besides Easter, I had a haircut, had my teeth cleaned and met up with my rug hooking buddy to hook for awhile.
Sadly back to work today but it is all good.
I am almost done my book  Hannah's war I will report on that next post.
I am a slow reader I just don't have the time to fit all of it in and read too.
Have a great week it is still chilly and windy here. Spring is dragging her heels getting here.

Good evening, I Love your frog! I haven't made us ham and bean soup in awhile and we both love it too. If this cold continues I may just do that. Yours looks delicious.
Glad your snow melted off, we have had allot of winds and rain here too-going on a couple weeks now. Sunday is suppose to jump right up to the 80's-typical Missouri haha. and then drop back down again
enjoy your evening hugs

That soup looks and sounds perfectly wonderful....and would be so good on this rainy, cold, evening. I'm a soup freak and haven't met many that I haven't liked. Your frog is FABULOUS!!! How do you know what colors to use? Just your eye for color? I'd be lost LOL. This is not only a fun project for you, but fun for us to follow along as it is like looking at a different rug each time you post. ~Robin~ (PS...too funny about the bunny being real. I thought it was very realistic LOL.)

Love your green toad!!!!!! And also am a lover of homemade soup. Just might be making some myself since the spring seems to have retreated here on the east coast.

I love how your frog is turning out. It looks perfect. Your soup and biscuits look tasty. I'll have to make some biscuits, now that I've been tempted.

I too made a pot of ham and split pea soup last evening after boiling the ham bones and pieces of chopped ham. My son came over and smelled the aroma and wanted some to take home. We are having some for our lunch today with biscuits.

We didn't get the snow but we got high winds in the afternoon and evening. Today, the sky is clear again.

Hugs, Julia

I really like the looks of that soup. I love that rug you are working on too. Great frog! I hope you have a great day at work. Too bad about the snow. We are supposed to have that starting tonight. I might make soup, yours looked so good.

Thankfully, we did not get any snow in this part of NH. Sure wish our ham had a bone because pea soup with ham would be wonderful on the chilly days we have been having, windy as well.

Yum! Bean soup! It will be on our menu after this Sunday when we finally celebrate Easter with the kids. Having the celebration a little later works for us and since it's Greek Easter also it goes with our heritage. Your gathering sure looked fun in the previous post! Love the glow in the dark eggs. I saw some on sale on Monday but decided to pass on buying them since our gathering is in the daylight! Have a good weekend and yes, we had snow this week too but it's suppose to be 80 on Sunday..that's crazy!

Fritz would love that soup. Me...NOOOOO!
Your frog is just too cute.
I just finished mowing...with a winter coat and gloves. Tomorrow will be much more spring-like...finally.

I wanted to make split pea and ham soup this year and none was left. Your frog made me smile. Great job! Janice
