I Hear A Bear

This is Kora my daughter's family's pound puppy.
She has been a house guest this weekend while her family is away at
play. She is a giant chicken if you are looking for some guard dog help it would never come from her. At bed time last night I took her out for her final pee and I hear a bear hooting some where in behind our house. She hears the bear puts her nose in the air and turns and runs for the house lol. Every man for themselves I guess.

We have had just the best time watching the blue bird cleaning out his new house. So cute!

I finished the second in the Masie Dobbs books by Jacqueline Winspear. I am enjoying the series so far. But I just picked up this book. Historical fiction of Ralph Waldo Emerson and his wife and friends. I am interested in Transcendentalism and have read some on it. I am looking forward to this book and hopefully my new glasses will come soon so I can read without my eyes getting so tired.

These few bare sticks are forsythia branches I want to force them.
I am looking for color any color at this point. I just looked up and yes it is snowing again. We are not suppose to get much still sad to see it this late in March.

We listen to music while making dinner and this came on we both were dancing around the kitchen it made us happy. So I will leave you with this if you can't dance, tap a toe, or nod your head.
In the mood by Glenn Miller
(sadly there is an ad before it comes on but it is short)

Have a great week!

Kora is adorable. So happy your daughter rescued. (I have no idea what sound a bear makes. I guess I will have to Google it!)
A bluebird...how sweet. Lucky you.
I totally enjoyed the Glenn Miller video. Thanks for sharing.

That book you are reading looks interesting. I read the first Maisie Dobbs book several years ago and enjoyed it. I would run for the house if I hear a bear too! Hope you have a good week. See you again soon!

Oh Kora! LOL. She looks like she could be fierce if she wanted to be but, apparently, she doesn't want to be. Snowdog is a big baby too, but not when it came to other animal threats...I was always concerned with the wolves and coyotes as they come so close and he is always on high alert. It made me feel safe, but worried for him...especially when the mountain lion visited our yard last year and, yeah, the bears...definitely the bears. Your book looks and sounds intriguing... I just might have to take a peek....and add it to my list. I know the thing about desperate for color....Unfortunately, I know it well. 🙁 ~Robin~

Poor Kora, and smelling the hungry bear. I think I would have run in the house too. lol...
I just hope the Bluebirds make their way over here someday. That would be so cool.

I hope you'll show us your blooming branches when it happens.
I just wish I had as much energy as those dancers. I love the music.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Julia

Bean will chase squirrels, but anything else, he runs the other way. I do worry about coyotes though, he may think they are other dogs to play with. Wonderful to have a bluebird living in the house, I have yet to see one in our yard.

Yes, color - any color - here in Wisconsin as well! Our dogs are chickens as well. Size doesn't matter - if your scared, your scared...lol

Oh, I love that song. It's nice to hear it once again. The blue bird is sweet, and as I'm looking out your window, I see you live in a lovely area. I really like that vase that's on the window sill. Thanks for visiting, and I'm glad to hear you live in the mountains as well. There is much peace and goodness here.

Happy Spring! Our snow has melted, and the days are getting a bit warmer. : )

Another great post! I think Kora is a wise dog. Millie is not so brave either. Just when I think I won't be bringing in another book... The Winspear books sound like my kind of reading.

Actually it is Mr. Emerson’s Wife that interests me.

Awww, Kora reminds me of my son's dog, Eddy! We sure miss that sweet guy! I would run for the hills too if I heard a bear! We're suppose to watch our oldest son's dog in a few weeks. He's a big..100lbs!..golden doodle. That should be fun with our little 20lb dog! Anyway, I'm sick of the snow too. We had more over the weekend but tomorrow it's suppose to be 70! Crazy! Have a good rest of your week!

Yes, we had several snow squalls early Monday as well, Cathy, so spring is definitely late in getting back after some 60+ temps teaser temps recently. That book about Emerson's wife looks like one I might enjoy as historical fiction is what I like best these days. Kora and you were both wise to head back to the house! Yes to hearing Glenn Miller and toe tapping. The Big Band sounds are better than anything out there today!

Wow a bear? Is that normal? I would do the same thing, run in the house.
She is a pretty dog. That seems like a neat book. I have never heard of it before. Just curious though, how do you know it was a bear? Could it have been something else? Like a Sasquatch?

That is one smart dog. A bear might send me running for the house too!
