From Another Time

I went to stay with my granddaughter for a few days. Her other grandparents had dropped her off at home a bit before I got there. I walk in and the record player is going. Take a few seconds to listen to what a 14 year was listening to while studying.

I offered tea I brought with me she pulls out her teapot and lovely cups, and we catch up. I could not ask for a nicer afternoon with my sweet granddaughter.
I did early morning dog walking to give her some extra free time before being dropped at school. A bonus sunrise.
Their neighborhood is so pretty. They are in a private development, so it is quiet.
Taking my grand to school, we have to go over a covered bridge that creaks and that tourist line up to take pictures of the beauty.
She had a sweet carved pumpkin on the porch.
And a creepy sight at their mailboxes lol.
I also treated myself to a new book. The bookstore recommended it basted on the last book I read.
But all great things must come to an end her parents came home, and I headed back to my house.
I wanted to use up the one apple I had and the puff pastry cups I bought by accident. I topped with whipped ricotta and drizzled some maple syrup.
Very yummy if I do say so myself.

It is our first fireplace of the season. We are tucked in and catching up on a couple of shows.

Have a wonderful weekend!

It amazed me that sweet miss B was listening to that music. You had a nice visit with her and oh how I love covered bridges. I remember once my parents took us to Vermont and New Hampshire just to see covered bridges. We had a map and that was all we did that trip. It was fun. Your fire did look cozy. None here yet, but we are stocked up with wood. Have a great weekend! Janice

It’s all perfect-beautiful music, a cup of tea, a covered bridge, that dessert, a good book, and a fire - ahhhhh. It doesn’t get any better than that.

That was not at all what I expected to hear! Today is to be in the 60s I think but I'll bundle up and do the yard work that needs doing now at the end of the growing season. We need more rain!

I would expect nothing less than that beautiful music to be being played by beautiful Miss B...or to be playing on an actual phonograph. A wonderful world of music and tea to walk into. "From another time" indeed.

That is too funny the music Miss B was listening to on a record player! Most kids would not even know how to use a record player..even if they knew what one was 🤦‍♀️
Dessert sounds yummy!
