131 Years

We are so dry, so very dry.

The leaves have turned but they have dried up on the trees.

So what falls is already dried. There is an outdoor fire ban on everything. They are saying it is the driest in 131 years. (not sure how they really know)
But we had a very wet spring, I hope that off sets it. But we are praying for lots of rain before the ground freezes for the winter.

My fairy roses are still blooming the weather has been so beautiful, warm, and summer like.

We are under a frost warning tonight. So, the few pots I have still going I have covered to keep them. The weather will go back to 70s and 80s, so I am trying to stretch them for a few more days.

Ok sky #4 and I think voila I have found it! It does not show up here but the hooking on the right is the old sky, the hooking on the left is the new sky. It has pinks and blues but muted. I finally feel good about it.

Wise words
****
Friday is our 50th anniversary. We have asked our daughter and family for their time. No parties or gifts just their time. To us this
is the perfect anniversary.
Have a wonderful week.

The water wording reminds me of what Clint Eastwood says about aging and one I try hard to work on ... Clint says, "don't let the old man in". I'm trying desperately to not let the old lady in.
Congrats on a long lived anniversary.

Hey Cathy! I wondered too how they got to 131 years. Was there a records each year? Maybe. One year we have a pretty red, pink and stunning skies and were told the same thing happened, 100 years ago. And I'm like, dang, who keeps track? Neato.

Happy Anniversary! I agree that time is the best gift.
It's so very dry here too, and our leaves are falling already dried up too.

Congratulations! 50 years is wonderful. I am very happy for you. I hope you get rain soon. Dry falls are a bummer. Funny how things are so different. It has been a very wet year overall for us.

Happy Anniversary! I sure hope you get some rain. We have been in a dry spell here for weeks as well. Looks like maybe 1 day next week we might get some. Who knows. Janice

Happy Anniversary, Cathy. Fifty years is amazing! We're dry too -- for weeks. But at least it is somewhat cooler than before. Even the grass won't grow.

Happy anniversary. I hope you have a lovely day no matter how you choose to spend it. I also hope that your outdoor pots didn't freeze. The roses still look like they are doing well!

i think a lot of the country is dry, we are here in new jersey...and we also had a wet spring!! it is supposed to be in the 80's here this weekend and we are still using the a/c. your hooking project is very pretty, it's nice when you can feel good about a project you are working on!! happy anniversary, wow, 50 years together, something to be really proud of!!

Happy 50th Anniversary! Enjoy your sweet time with family. I do like your 4th sky best, in relation to the rest of the rug. That's the nice thing about hooking- you can change something if you don't like it.

50th anniversary - how absolutely marvelous congratulations!! It’s been very dry here as well, I don’t think we’ll have beautiful color in our leaves this year, And it’s predicted there really won’t be a fall that we’re going straight to winter. I’d better get ready! What’s the secret of the beautiful roses? I have some that must be an old variety, but just can’t get them to look like I know they should. And the final quote is perfect-so much bouncing around out there that will pull us down if we let it in I love the advice.
