Every Little Breeze....

Turn the sound up you will hear the sound of acorns and leaves falling. (Husband's workshop)

Fall has its own sounds and smells.

The one and only wooly caterpillar I have seen this year.
The longer black end is the head end. now I wonder what it means?

So I think it is winter begins harsh an ends mild. Hmmm I wonder?
Old Farmers Almanac says mild winter. which would be fine for our oil bill.
I am knitting right along on my sweater. I have cheap yarn for my first one just to make sure I really would finish it.

Even though our days have been record breaking warm for us. I found some time to bake I made scones and some sandwich bread today.

Husband has been sick and in order to avoid him as much as I can I retreat to my rug room and watch old movies. Could it get any better than this??? Philadelphia Story, I love katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant. On top of that when I get some time to knit quietly I am listening to an audio book,"An Irish Country Yuletide"  Yes I know it is a bit early for Christmas but I am sick of murder mysteries and I didn't want any romance so I settled on this and I am really enjoying it!

Now that the colors are fading I will end with this pretty leaf.
Have a wonderful week!!!

I love that video! The sight of the falling leaves and the sound of the wind and acorns definitely says fall.
I've been hearing we are in for a bad winter. I guess we'll find out.

Such a lovely post! I could set up a work haven in a place like your husband has!!!! Sights impress us, but sounds are special. A new word for me!

He has set up quite the retreat in his shop. He is a life long woodworker. He has all his equipment in there. A heater for 5he winter and a little frig for his waters.

Lets hope your caterpillar and the Almanac are correct. I haven't seen the first caterpillar here yet but will take notice. Hope hubby feels better soon.

I've seen several wooly caterpillars and I think they resembled the first one on your chart.

I love old movies - and I would do the same thing. I hate colds and I hope he feels better soon.
I think your winter will start harsh and end up mild - but what do I know.
Love his workshop!

Even though the colors are waning a bit, here too, there is still some remaining to enjoy. I tried a video of falling leaves this week, but mine did not turn out as good as yours😕Hope your husband is feeling better soon, mine was ill for a couple of weeks after we returned from out travels, all better now. It’s also been too warm here, I prefer fall temps, not spring.

Well, I learned two things in your post. First, was the word Psithurism, one of my favorite and most relaxing sounds in nature. The other was about the Wooly. I had never seen that chart before.

The wooly bear we found in front of our garage yesterday was like yours.
Will I remember next spring to compare to what the almanac forecast is with what the wooly bear forecast is? Probably not.

I saw a completely white looking wooly bear. Mayber it was something else! One of the towns north of us has a wooly bear festival every year. I don't mind if we get some cold to help kill bugs and we need moisture (snow) but don't want a blizzard! Our leaves are at the peak this week. We've had a beautiful fall. Your video reminds me of the soothing video sounds to help you sleep! Have a good weekend Cathy! It's suppose to be chilly for us so scones sound good!

I came by yesterday and was about to leave a comment when my computer froze up. At least I don't think I had pushed publish. Anyway, it's all fixed now.
Nice little video💖

I have not seen any wooly caterpillars yet but we too are suppose to have a mild Winter too. I have been watching some very nostalgic movies myself. Wuthering Heights, Robin Hood with Errol Flynn and other black and whites. Call me crazy but also watching the old Tarzan movies with Johnny and Lex too. Janice

I seem to miss the best places for color. We get a lot of pops of color here and there and I noticed today that the beach ends are just turning, so maybe next weekend. I have seen wooly bears, but never thought about the colors, I think the last I saw was more light brown in the middle, so maybe a mild winter, fine with me. I hope your husband is feeling better.
