Ending The Year Laughing

The New year and a new coffee pot.
Makes a yummy cup of coffee.
Don't mind the mess in the background I was taking down Christmas.
The weather is damp and dreary mostly March weather not Jan. I am ready for some snow to play in.

Back to working on my witch. As you can see, I have made some changes to the pattern, and I have a few more to make. But she looks happy about it lol.

I have mostly been one that if there is cheaper version of a piece of clothing that is what I would buy. Or better yet I hit the thrift stores.
I found these socks and my feet never felt better. They are expensive for socks, but I feel like they are so worth it. I will ditch all the other socks and even if I only have a few pairs of these better than a drawer full of the other ones.

When I went into work Dec 31 someone had done this to the little tree in front work. Why? It was a healthy sweet little tree.

The comedian on New Year's Eve was good and it was nice to end the year laughing.
***
As you all know I love football and last night we were watching the Bills vs Bengals game and the unthinkable happened.
Damar Hamlin of the Bills after a play stood up and fell back his heart stopped.
He is in critical condition and my heartfelt prayers go out to him.
He is much too young (24) for anything like this to happen.
***
Thank you for all the good New year wishes and the same to all of you may this year be the best ever!

Nice to end the year with a laugh. Hay New Year btw. So sad some idiot did that to the tree. It has been raining all day today. Kind of miss the snow myself...but maybe I need to rethink that. LOL Janice

It's been damp here too and no snow. It does look like March. Our potatoes are already sprouting in the cold room and they usually just start sprouting in the spring.

Your witch rug is looking good. I never heard of Smart socks. They must be really good if you would prefer to have only two pairs of these and chuck the rest.

Too bad about the vandal done to that little tree on your street.

There are so many young healthy athletes who are dying suddenly because of the jabs. It's scary.

Take care and I hope 2023 is better than last year.
Hugs, Juia

Very sad about Damar Hamlin. I love those socks. I will have to see if I can find some. I love soft, comfy socks. So glad you enjoyed the comedian on New Year's Eve.I hope you 2023 is going well so far. See you again soon.

We have idiots who do stupid things like that here as well. 2 years ago My Village WI planted a Cherry Tree on the edge of the playground field and last year someone dug it up and stole it!
The news about the young footballer even made the news here although I hadn't realised how young he was - what a shock

At least if they stole the tree they might not destroy it. I just do not understand it.
That young man ran full speed into a 300lb body who was running towards him. Then he fell to the turf. It is such a violet game.either of those two things could of stopped his heart. Praying for a full recovery of that young man.

As I have said before he had 2 violet things happen to him he ran full speed into a 300lb body and he hit the turf very hard. No one knows if he even had the vaccine.

I'm so glad you are feeling better. Aren't smartwool socks the best? I have a few pair and they last -- I've had them years and wear them often. The Hamlin hit was tragic and such a fluke. I so hope he will recover in full. That tree makes me sad.

Why oh why would someone do that to that poor tree? I don't understand.
I am still praying too for the young football player. A heart attack I understand.
I understand the need for comfortable socks too.

Wishing you a healthy and happy 2023 Cathy. What a useless idiot that did that to the tree. I don't know what joy they can possibly derive from it. Love your witch. ~Robin~

Bob Marley? Smart wool socks have been our favs for years. No substrate will do. Glad your feeling better :)

So smart wool socks are worth the price? May I ask what makes them special? I have seen them but just could not allow myself to spend that kind of $$.
Such a moron to destroy the tree. I hope they somehow catch the person responsible.
Sad about Hamlin. Even if he makes a full recovery (praying he does so) his football career will be over. Life is so fragile. We must be thankful for each and every healthy day.

Cathy, I agree that there is nothing better than a good cup of coffee or tea in the miserable days we have also been having in Nashua, NH, this week. I am also with you in thrift store shopping, but not for socks. Smart Wool are a good brand as are the made in VT ones (can’t recall the brand) but as you noted pricey. I have found that the ragg cotton and wool socks sold in the LL Bean outlet here are great. They are USA products, nit as costly, and now the only ones I buy.

I'm with you, bring on some snow, not ice! I have some new snowshoes I want to try out!

Our weather was dreary and weirdly warm! I don't mind the warmth but the constant clouds and fog were a pain. Today it finally had some sun! The temps are going down and maybe some snow will arrive too. I love your witch! So cute! I'm sorry about the little tree. Why do some people think they have the right to do this? Makes me so mad. I'm glad you had some good laughs to end the year and new socks to walk into 2023! I too feel bad about the football player and know that his age will be his advantage to survive this. Prayers for him and his family and fellow football players. I need to post something soon but I've been back at work and also busy taking down and putting away the Christmas decor. Have a good weekend ahead Cathy!

Rainy and dreary all week here, too. This weekend will be better, but cold. Your witch is coming along nicely, that is a fun pattern.
I am picky on socks, I like comfy feet. Bill got me some really thick wool socks that are soft and cushy, so great with winter boots.
