Mr Bluebird On My Window...

We have enjoyed watching the bluebirds build their nests and now he is standing guard over the Missus.

Recital weekend for our Sweet B.

She is my complete joy. She is going for the toe shoes just like her mom did. She is taking dance all summer to get a jump up.
How I love this sweet girl.

May and June have been 90 one day cold and raw the next. Since I have ban turning on the furnace, we lit the fireplace one evening. It was just enough. I am shocked and horrified as you all are at the prices of items we need to exist! We have made some changes here as I am sure you have.

Sadly, my funk has continued I have not pulled one loop.
Have I gone this long without pulling a loop? I am not sure.
Seeing my grand this weekend has given me a lift so hopefully soon I will get back at it.

I saw this at our local new bookstore and loved it!
As you know I manage a used bookstore. This came in and I was finished with my Dorothy Gilman book, Thayles Folly (you should give her a try!)
I am only a few chapters in. This author really researched her information and I know sadly very little about the revolution, so it really has been a learning experience so far. I do like it and will hopefully enjoy the rest of the book.

Last Monday I split a tooth eating breakfast. (Yes breakfast) I got into see my dentist they cannot save it, so I have to go to an oral surgeon. Well, you guessed it not for 2 weeks! I tried several others, but they couldn't get me in earlier. My poor dentist was so sorry, but it is in my sinus, and he doesn't dare touch it as he is not an oral surgeon. So, we are looking at another bridge $$$ I will not do an implant my insurance will not touch it and it is so expensive!
So that is my sad story for the day. I think the broken tooth was a message for me.
***
Thank you so much for those that reached out to me. I appreciate it more than you know. Have a wonderful week.

This morning it was 53* outside when I woke up. And because of the temperature change my back, hips, well just say all joints are in pain. So much so I can barely walk.
I had my second apico by a dental surgeon about 4 years ago and it was also near my nasal cavity. The first time I had the surgery done (about 50 years ago) my dentist told me to not sneeze. My problem was there had to be a cyst removed and bone carved away. Then 4 years ago the cyst had developed again in the same spot.
Your hooking room looks very inviting.

I didn't know you managed a used book store! I think that would be a lot of work but very interesting! I often buy used books and take my older ones to the store so I'm a big fan.

Good luck with your tooth. I have dental work this week too, so I'll be thinking of you!

Ouch about the broken tooth, Cathy, as I have also had a similar experience (thankfully not recent). I know what you mean about the cost of implants and we self-insure our dental expense. It seems many people are in a bit of what you call a "funk" and with so many senseless things going on in the world that's understandable. I will admit that it cheered me today to see all those happy crowds celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. And, I did not read about any volence in such a large gathering, which was even better news.

Good morning, so sorry you are still a bit in the dumps-we all go through this some times. I don't do much with crafts either when this happens and usually go back to reading.
so sorry about your tooth-I went through that several years ago-being sent off to a specialist-that was a very long drive and then back to the regular dentists-I finally told him to just pull it-was a tooth I already had spent a few thousands dollars on and told him no more, at my senior age now--will just deal with it haha
Loved seeing the bluebird, we really enjoy watching the birds too.
Last night two of our wisconsin friends drove down to go fishing with Larry-perfect weather for them so far. Larry really needed this too hugs Kathy

When I saw your cute little Bluebird an old song from Wilf Carter came to mind. There's a Bluebird on Your Windowsill. He sang this song in 1957 and I was just a young girl then. I listened to it for a few minutes and it brought back some old memories.

I'm sorry you are in a down mood. It will pass, we all go through some downtime sometimes.

Miss B. looks so assured of herself with holding her head up high. I hope that you have videoed some of her recitals. It would be fun to show at your family gatherings.

My husband also lighted the wood stove yesterday morning. Your fireplace looks very welcoming and also your hooking room. So much gorgeous wool... Stop fretting about not pulling loops, there's plenty to do outdoors this time of year anyway. So sorry about your tooth. What a setback... I hope that they can fix it. I've had surgery on one of my front teeth years ago. Not a pleasant thing but my tooth is still there.

Take care, hugs.

What a beautiful bird! Dont get me started on everything going up...but of course it is all Putin's fault. We had to shut our gift shop Mon and Tues to save money. It sucks. I have not pulled a lop since finishing dancing rabbits.. been too busy working on Halloween. Janice

It seems like we must be living parallel lives to some extent....the funk, the weather, the temptation to give in to the despair. Perhaps your hooking mojo is on a walkabout with Saundra's and mine. As I told Saundra, I am sure your mojo will return home long before mine. Love your little bluebird. For some reason, we don't see many of them here...Blue Jays, yes...the kinder, gentler, bluebirds, no. Miss B is so very lovely. The long graceful arms and legs will serve her so very well in her love of dance. I so wanted to take ballet lessons as a child. It was not even a remote possibility. Good luck with the dentist dilemma... This waiting to get medical/dental attention is ridiculous. We are getting as bad as Canada. I was referred to a ENT specialist weeks ago...the first available appt is mid August. Hello?? ~Robin~

Very cool to have a bluebird nesting outside your window.
Miss B is just adorable. I remember your excitement when you found out your daughter was pregnant, and just look at her now.
It is hard not to be depressed with the state of our world. Our administration will take no responsibility. They are just like children blaming everyone but themselves for problems.
Gas hit $5.09 in Ohio, and of course the price of fuel will affect everything else. Oh, that's right. Can't afford gasoline? Go buy an EV for $50K+. That is Mayor Pete's solution.
OK. Off my soapbox ;-)

I love seeing that bluebird. How pretty. Miss B. is so sweet. How nice you have so much to look forward to, not the dental work though. I am so sorry about that. I have had to do that more than I like to admit.
Gas here is over 8.00 dollars now. I love that yellow of your fireplace. I love that color so much. I have been looking at this stuff in a different way. Here is California, it is a great wakeup call of all of the people who voted for the houseplant. People in California, after the election yesterday, might be on its way to turning red. I keep looking for that glimmer of gold in the clouds. I had to go grocery shopping yesterday, and it was triple of what I bought the week before. But at least there was food to buy. I think it is all trying to get us to be green. I think too that is a wake up call too.
Oh, I almost forgot, I love Dorthy Gilman!! I think she is such a treasure. I hope you have a good week.

What a sweet bluebird and how fun to watch them daily. Miss B would lift spirits for sure! She's a cutie and growing up so fast. I hope you're feeling better soon and that cozy fireplace would bring a smile to my face on a chilly night. We have 2 fireplaces but have to have some work done on them to get them up and running and frankly the price to do so is crazy! You are right about the price of everything. So depressing but I refuse to let it get me down. I just pray daily that things will turn around and if we have to downsize we will do it. Hopefully it's not that time yet! Hang in there Cathy and enjoy your lovely home and beautiful lake area!

Wonderful to have a bluebird nesting in your house, I wish I had some in my area.
Mrs. B is growing up so fast and turning into a beautiful young lady.
Sometimes I can't get into projects, so taking a break and doing other things I love, always helps to get me back into it.
