Santa!

Thursday we were suppose to get 4 to 6 inches we got ...

17 and that was low compared to other towns! Two towns over it was 48 inches!!! crazy amount of snow!!! Boy did they get it wrong.

So miss B and her mom decided to get a couple of runs in. she has new skis this year (they are longer) so it is a learning curve for her again and she did great!

My Santa is done! and crazy as it sounds I started another one. I will not get it done before Christmas but that is OK.

I watched a Gene Sheppard video on wool dying. A one pot method
I tried it and was not happy with the first attempt so I did it again much better! It is really darker in person a great background. Which I have plans for.

We give a Christmas goodies basket to some local hard working town employees. Today was cookie day I need to donate some of them to a charity but the rest will go in baskets for the workers.

When it comes to decorating cookies not so good but they taste good so that is all that matters.

All those cookies were from the butter cookie recipe from Susan Branch. What a wonderful recipe and it makes a big batch so you can divide the batch and make several cookies.

The new pattern is from Old Tattered Flag it was a free gift on their Facebook page. So yes you can copy this but give credit to the Old Tattered Flag.

We have plenty of snow for Santa to make his way to our house.
But now they are forecasting rain for Christmas day ugg what a mess!

We will be staying home for the holidays, I will miss family like crazy and need this whole covid mess to be over the sooner the better.
Life is passing me by.
**
I hope you are tucked in and counting your blessing for this odd season. We all have something to be thankful for and for now that has to do.
Don't forget to look for the Christmas star on the 21st when 2 planets come together and become very bright in the sky. The first time in hundreds of years!
Merry Christmas my sweet blog friends

Your Santa turned out wonderfully!! I really like that background...reminds me of a dark winter's night sky. I need to start thinking about what my next project will be. Still haven't finished The Beast, but have been in a stitching mood lately... Perhaps a SMALL hooking project is order to get me "primed" for the last laps of The Beast. But it's much easier pulling a stitching project as I have such a stash to choose from LOL. Your cookies look amazing. I love, love, my sweets, but did not bake this year as I am the only one who eats them and those I know either have family/friend baking get-togethers or don't eat sweets. I did treat myself to making fruitcake though. I am the only one who eats that too, but I made them in small loaves and popped all but one in the freezer. Yes, I think we are all ready fo be over and done with this whole mess we are in. I read a funny a while back. It said "You think 2020 is bad? Wait until she turns 2021 and can drink!" Heaven help us LOL. ~Robin~

That is a LOT of snow!!! Thankfully you didn't get the 48".
Your Santa rug is amazing. You hooked that SO FAST!!!
Thanks for sharing the OTF freebie. I am not on FB that much and miss so much.
I do count my blessings daily, but I am so tired of Covid. It is totally wearing me down, but as I've said many times, I consider myself one of the lucky ones.
Well, not sure what happened with the day. I am finally off to pull a few loops.
Merry, merry Christmas!!!

Wow, your Santa rug turned out FAST and very nice. And now ANOTHER? But now you're experienced so the second go-around will be better, faster and more to your liking.
Are young B's skis cross country or downhill?
I no longer bake or eat cookies. BUT just might bake a banana nut bread tomorrow to treat myself during the Christmas holiday. Think I need to indulge and enjoy.

Your Santa rug is quite a big one. It looks very nice on the door.

So much snow for your area but lucky, you didn't get 48 inches instead. I bet the kids were happy though. Miss B. must have enjoyed trying her new skies. She's all smiles.

Your Christmas cookies look so yummy. I made some sweets for our church women group cookie exchange as a fundraiser and they made over $500. I made 2 fruit cakes for us as the recipe makes a lot. Now I need to make some cranberry cookies, a family favorite at Christmas, and some snowball cookies.

Take care and stay safe and well.
Hugs, Julia

The clouds are blocking the star view here tonight but they say you can still see it this week. We've had so many gray, cloudy days. All the snow we got last week is gone. I think we may get some on Christmas Eve. Your cookies look great and very yummy! I've made some stuff but will be throwing out some too as I didn't get all my deliveries in. Oh well, it's been a weird Christmas season anyway! I love your Santa! Nice job! I hope Miss. B enjoys all that snow and her skiing! Have a good week! Merry Christmas!

We did the opposite here in NJ... they predicted 12-18 inches and we only got about 6... lol! The buggaboo is that it stayed cold, so it's still here and looking dirty... warmer temps and rain will hopefully wash this away by Saturday. LOVE that first pic with your wreath! It would make a great notecard or Christmas card! And those cookies look awesome! Especially those linzer tarts... my favorite, though I've never attempted to make them myself. Wishing you a safe, healthy and Merry Christmas!

There are days I feel that life is passing me by, too, but praying we will be able to spend time with those we love soon. Your cookie collection looks yummy!

I didn’t make my normal ginger sparkle cookies this year but I did make gingerbread cakes and lemon curd. One year I made 7 cookie doughs and let the kids cut and bake them. I think those days are gone for good!
