The house was a toasty 72 while outside was 27 with the wind blowing the huge white pines around. I got the beast in the basement going again.
(our very ugly wood stove) and brewed a pot of coffee.
And sat in our big window waiting for sunrise. As dawn cracked ,the birds made a rush for the bird feeder. I wonder how they survive our cold winters, the poor little things. The only lights that were on were a few window candles. A service call for the fire dept breaks the silence. Wires down, husband has been retired from the fire Dept. for several years now but just can't give up knowing what they are doing.
I sip my first cup of coffee counting my blessings. The first is only getting a slight coating of snow when a foot was forecast. And not needing our new generator to kick in! While I am missing my family and friends so much I know they miss me too. I think it would be sadder still if you had no one to miss or to miss you. Blessings they come in disguise sometimes.
I have picked up my hook to wait for the day to get a bit warmer so I can take a walk. I will post more about my newest project soon.
Stay warm and healthy have a great day!
