A Change Of Plans.

I paid the bills so that counts for something.

We have about 4 inches on the ground and still snowing a bit. My watercolor class was cancelled. She said she would reschedule soon.

I had a piece of chicken that was so tough it was like old leather.
So, I boiled it for a very long time to break it down, and then I made
a soup a really tasty soup and now chicken is now in tiny little bits but still tough. That must have been one old rooster, I think. I made homemade rolls, so it made up for the tough chicken.

I made oatmeal bread, just out of the oven. I should have never put cold egg whites on the top at the end it, it should have been at the beginning of the 2nd rise, and they should have been room temp. Waiting to have a slice.

Our funny little grand dog loves looking out our windows, she can watch the red squirrels under the feeder.

And this is our Sweet B. She got a maxi skirt about 5 sizes too large for her at a thrift store and she cut it down and made this sweet dress!!!! I am so impressed by her talents. I know she is ours, but she really is amazing!!!
*******
I hope to meet up with my good friend tomorrow for an adventure.
I will be shoveling a bit later. I made a beef stew today with meat that needed to be cooked. So, we have a bit of a choice for dinner tonight.
Have a wonderful week!!

I'm sorry you are getting snow again! We got rain today but I hear snow may come on the weekend. But - it's almost March!
Sweet B is pretty amazing! I really like the dress and am impressed with her skills.

Perhaps your granddaughter is a fashion designer in the making.

Love your meme!
Sorry your class got canceled. Darn snow 😡
Miss B did a great job on the dress. It will be a while before she can wear it and be comfortable, me thinks!

Your rolls and bread look AHHHMAZING! You sure eat well at your house. I haven't been doing any baking - or cooking even - lately. Just no real appetite and no ambition. Miss B's dress is awesome...quite creative and talented. Those genes obviously run deep and true. Have fun with your friend tomorrow! ~Robin~.

Love the picture on top. That was me yesterday. BTW I paid bills too. I have been on a baking frenzy lately. I have a kitchen towel that says- Well that was almost good. I hate how I always find fault with anything I bake or cook. My granddog loves to look out the window too. Nose trouble. Love the reconstructed dress! Such talent

What talent sweet B has. She has your genes for sure. Sorry you class got cancelled, but you made the best of it. Both soup, bread and stew sound yummy. We had beef stew the other night too. Janice

I am finding most whole chickens especially are really tough and horrible I pretty much only buy chicken breasts now or splurge and pick up a plain seasoned roitisserie (wrong spelling) chicken a wal mart. My late sister was good at improvising sewing projects too-an excellent skill to have.
Hoping you warm up soon and get the snow all melted. Happy last day of Feb

Not too many young women these days would be able to cut and sew a dress as your granddaughter did. It looks great on her. She is talented and amazing for sure!

Have fun on your adventure and do share! Well done, Ms. B. I bought chicken stock at Costco and I am getting in the mood for some chicken soup. I had some wonderful chicken/lemon/rice soup yesterday out at dinner. I might have to find a recipe for it!

Hi Cathy! I haven't posted or read blogs in a while and I'm embarrassed to be so behind! You have had the winter to remember! All that snow and ice. We have had a fair amount of snow and cold but not like you. Today was 53de and sunny so I was a happy girl. Our snow has melted but we're supposed to get some tonight or tomorrow morning. I know Spring is just around the corner but I'm not sure Mother Nature realizes it! Your Miss B is a talented young lady! I never could get the hang of sewing. My sister has all that ability! Your food always looks so good! I hope you have a nice weekend and can enjoy walks with your Grandpup!

Oh my gosh, Miss B is all grown up! That makes me feel really old. She was just a baby when I started reading your blog. Your bread looks so good. Its still winter your way. I can tell you I am not ready for spring or summer. I would like to be in the house a bit longer. I hope you have a lovely weekend,

I am late - so maybe your snow is gone by now. Your breads are so impressive. Love what you said about that being an old hen - lo - like me! I'd probably be tough too. Miss B is precious and must take after you.

Your snowy woods are so pretty! The soup looks good even if the chicken was too tough! Your oat bread looks delicious! How very clever of your daughter/granddaughter to make a dress from the skirt. Very pretty!
