13 Years and counting

Halloween out, Turkeys in. My sweet grand made my pilgrim several years ago. As you can see he is wearing glasses like she used to. (She now wears contacts)

Holiday open house at a place full of stitching and wooly wonders?
Yes count me in. She has a big sign on the door NO pictures inside.
While I can not blame her a lot of the pieces are her own creations. But oh the inspirations!!!! I spent way more than I should have and went on my way.

On the way home I stopped at the thrift store.
I bought linen napkins to stitch on 4 for 1.00, I got a handmade pottery bowl, I will use it under a plant. Some sweet tatted lace, and the coffee filters I took out of the free box. They were never  opened.

I got this sweet shirt made in Italy and the leggings to go with it.
I also got a tablecloth to use on my porch next summer and a few odds and ends. 14.00 a bargain!

I took a trip to the dump with husband. For those who don't know our dump (recycling center) has a little "store" there are shelves there you can put things others may want. It is free, I got this very large glass canister. I bleached it and scrubbed it and now what to do with it? Maybe christmas balls for a centerpiece? who knows?

I soaked the napkins I got at the thrift in coffee. They now have a parchment paper color. I got wool thread at the holiday open house and now I am stitching. My brain just never stops! I need to do one thing at a time! I will make a little pillow I will fill with Maine Balsam.

Ok more rugs from the show. These are the flowers ones.

My sweet friend Pam hooked this one based on Celia Thaxter's garden on Appledore Island.

I do have several more to post. Amazing talent!

This is husband mid crunch lol.
Today marks 13 years since he had a bone marrow transplant.
His wonderful brother was his match. What more can I say it makes me tear up everytime I think about it. It was a long struggle but he is so good and enjoying life.

I am not sure what is going on with blogger you all came through with no reply emails. All of you! And I tried to follow a couple of your blogs and I got a message to try later (I tried several times)

There is a stressful week ahead no matter who you vote for or who wins.  In NH we are voting for 2 senators (we only have 4)  and a new Governor. So please take some time for you. Unplug do something you love. I know my daily walks help with the stresses of life. But you do you. In our little town we hand count votes, I have been doing it for years and I am proud I can help.
Motto for the week Kindness matters.

(I am working on the pattern for the shawl I hope to post it soon)

Blogger has weird things going on so often these days. Most excellent on the 13 years. I liked that flower bag. I did think no pictures is a silly thing. When folks buy her stuff, they can still take photos and share. Either way, that's her call and it's nice that folks respected her wishes. Great deal on the napkins.

On my most recent post every.single.comment !!! came thru as a no reply blogger and I didn't change a thing. What the heck is going on? I have seen others say the same thing.
You must share what you got at the open house! You sure came away with some great bargains at the thrift store.
Thanks for sharing the rugs.
I cannot believe it has been 13 years for hubby. What a blessing his brother was a match. May he have 13 more...then 13 more!!!
I am stressed over the election and I pray our country can be saved. 'Nuff said.
May God bless America

I've been having issue with return emails and finding blogs of those who comment too. It's so frustrating!
I love the Pilgrim your granddaughter made.
The craft show sounds so good.
The napkins are going to be perfect when you get done with the,
Hooray for 13 years!

Just last week I started having trouble posting comments on some blogs. Also on about half of them I come up as anonymous. I'm going to get grandson M to take a look and see if he can fix it. Great news that your husband has been fine for 13 years now. That's amazing.
Have a good week.

good morning I love a good thrift store I miss a huge one that we used to visit before moving to the lake. we have close by an animal shelter thrift shop which I need to stop in someday again-but I really don't go anywhere these days.
you found some awesome finds. Loved seeing the hooked pieces. awesome you hand count votes-those machines cheat sadly-or the people in charge of those do. sad
have a good week

You had such a great haul at the thrifting! What a fun day. And I love those red and white doors (?) -- they look great. The rugs are fabulous and I love what you are doing with the napkins! Congratulations on your husband's transplant anniversary -- what a gift of love that was.

I'm having the same blogger issue. I reported it in the "help" or feedback thing but of course have heard nothing. I know none of us probably went in to change those settings (I checked and mine is as it should be). It's happening with everyone and I don't get it. I keep reminding myself -- Blogger is Free. Annoying but Free! I'm seeing lots of anonymous comments too and yet they sound like they are regulars so who knows what is up with that!

What a great shopping spree you went on with great results and no out of pocket. Wow how time flys! Can't believe it has been 13 years since first reading about it on your blog either.
As for the No-Reply bloggers, it happens here too but thankfully I've saved some of the people in my 'contacts' file so if I know their name can find their email to respond.

We hand count votes here too. I won't be doing that but will be checking folks in or out from voting.

Congrats on the 13th anniversary! I can only wonder how different life would have been had that technology been available when my father was diagnosed. Yes! Do show us what you came away with from the open house! You got some deals at the thrift store - I love the little napkins you are embroidering. Blogger is, indeed, frustrating. I am still stewing over the 200 limit on followers. ~Robin~

Amen! I completely agree with you about the election. Thanks for your service in helping count the votes in your town! We all need to do our part for our Democracy! Your husband's health and a brother willing to be his bone marrow donor are truly things to be grateful for. I love the fun and creative things you are always working on. Have a good week!

Blogger always seems to have issues now and then. Guess with it being free we cannot complain too much, but it is frustrating. Congrats on the 13 wonderful years your BIL gave your husband. You found some wonderful goodies as always. The napkins will be so festive once you finish them. Love that sweet tree. Janice

I seem to get both types of comments, so I try to look to see what ones didn't come to my mail. You find lots of fun things. I have avoided the thrifts, I have too much stuff I need to get rid of, lol. Looks like we have more warm weather coming, won't mind a mild winter.
