I always keep puff pastry in the freezer. Tonight I had pulled some of the pork pie filling left over from the other week I had in the freezer. I used the puff pastry in a cupcake tin and filled it with the pre cooked filling voila dinner! I was thinking that if you had any leftover meatloaf that would be good also. I added some green beans and some mashed cauliflower to go with it.
I am on an oatmeal kick lately. I make it the night before and heat it the next morning it is so good. I love being the first one up and just sitting in the quiet it is a beautiful way to start the day.
And the decorating goes on and on. I wish I had a before picture, this is an iron trellis I wired greens on it. I stuck it in the metal flower pot. I have solar star lights on order. We are having high winds tonight lets see if it holds together yikes!
My village is up and as you can see santa is very happy about it kissing Mrs Claus.
Here are the Christmas movies we have, the classic collection has
Barbara Stanwyck in Christmas in Connecticut one of my favorites.
A few others I like are:
Holiday Affair
Scrooge the 1931 version
Charlie Brown Christmas
A Christmas Story
The Family Man
Meet Me in St. Louis
I hope you find something in there that you can enjoy.

I spent the a big part of the day weeding out some Christmas stuff I no longer wanted and set some things aside that I plan on selling.
I need to down size big time I have a Christmas problem.

The email problem corrected itself for about 5 minutes and back to no reply. Stay with me I am doing the best I can.
Thanks for your visits and comments.

I have oatmeal most every day of the year, usually it is the regular 30 minute cook Steel Cut but once in a while do the Old Fashioned. A lot of those movies are advertised and show regularly every year during the Christmas holidays. My son still watches It's a Wonderful Life every year with his wife.
Great idea with the puff pastry!
I think I need some oatmeal too, it sounds good in this cold weather.
I love what you did with that trellis!
I took a box of Christmas decorations to the thrift store too. And I should take yet more.
I hope your trellis/greens tree stands up to the wind. It looks great!!
Lots of good movies there. I still laugh out loud for the squirrel jumping out of the tree scene in Christmas Vacation…every time.
Love your decorating! My tree is up and ready to go!
hugs
Donna
Good morning I love oatmeal and have it several times a week all year round. I like how you created a christmas tree hopefully the winds will not take it down. I have just one large plastic tub with lid for my christmas items-most very old. I may dig out my balsam hill mini tree to enjoy and decorate this year.
Happy weekend
Most of those movies are on my "must watch" list every year. Thanks for sharing them.
I need to downsize my Christmas stuff, too, but that is not likely to happen...lol!
I have just barely started decorating. I have never started this early and we'll see how much I get done. I will be off "playing" tomorrow and then my son is coming to town on Monday. Oh well, oh hell. A little is better than none.
I'm not really an oatmeal fan... Not as good for me, but I like Cream of Wheat on cold mornings. That trellis tree is fantastic!!! The wind here has been out of control. I'm not sure even the trees in the ground are going to hold up to it. I've not decorated a stitch yet. Just not feeling it I guess. And I so need to go through ALL of my holiday decorations. I have way too much and the way I've been decorating of late, I could probably get rid of everything. ~Robin~
I love your pastry cups - where did you get them? I love the same exact shows you do - Christmas in Connecticut was so cute. And I make steel oats for the morning - make two servings - save one for the next Morning.
I keep planning t buy a package of puff pastry and now you have given me some good reasons to do so, Cathy. We have most of the same Christmas movies with some exceptions, no Rudolf or Elf, and we have many more. We will start watching them after Dec 1 as we are out of town for the holiday and that will take us through Dec and even into Jan.
You are inspiring me to get going on putting up our decorations. I hope to get started in earnest on that tomorrow. I hope that you have a great weekend! See you again soon.
I eat shredded wheat and banana every morning, but I use oatmeal in my cookies, so I get lots of fiber. Love your tree, great idea and looks so nice. I am waiting till after dinner, then it all comes down. I also have a christmas problem, and need to downsize.
I like your meat puff pastry idea. I like oatmeal but I prefer the cream of wheat too, especially on a cold morning. For some reason, I only eat cooked cereal in the winter. I mostly use oatmeal in cooking, like apple crisp, date squares, and cookies.
Take care, hugs.
Julia
I see a lot of my favorites in that pile of movies! And the puff pastry idea is terrific. Love your "tree" too -- well done!
Puff pastry is so versatile! I like your Christmas movie collection. This week I watched two of my favorites: Prancer and Elf.
I like all of those movies. Also the Bishop's Wife and White Christmas. Your outdoor tree looks wonderful. Janice
I have not seen pranced in years. Yes I use puff pastry a lot.
Thanks for the visit!
Your puff pastry looks so delicious! I have not started decorating for Christmas yet.....I still have pumpkins on the porch and fall wreaths hanging and thinking about what all I need to get ready for our Thanksgiving gathering. But it wont be long until it's time to pull out all of the Christmas pretties! Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving!
Minced meat on puff pastry looks good... and is quick :-)))
I'm also a fan of oatmeal and eat it almost every morning... and it has to be warm. At the moment I'm adding fresh blueberries on top - they're still available right now!
I'm also looking forward to the Christmas films.
We had a few days of snow until yesterday... it was wonderful... winter fairytale forest.
A greeting comes to you from Viola
