Blustry

We have had some winds and rain.

The colors are muted browns. No shortage of turkeys. On my walk I saw these turkeys about 15 to 18 of them in one flock. I guess they know they are safe here.

Our mornings have been chilly and foggy. The deer comes most mornings magically appearing out of the fog and then disappearing the same way.

I have a few thanksgiving decorations. I know most people don't bother but I found these vintage candles and couldn't resist

They remind me of Thanksgivings in Maine with my grandparents and extended family. Such wonderful memories.

I have two native american candles and the feet are melted so they don't stand up on their own. I have them lean, I do not want to give them up.

I have been working on my rug a bit each night.
I am so pleased with how it is coming out.
I am still working on my knitting, but I have made quite a few mistakes or as one of my customers told me I am customizing it lol.

I made some pumpkin yeast rolls this week and I had 4 left over so I cut them up and made pumpkin bread pudding. I added about a half a cup of pumpkin puree to the mix! ohhhhhh it was so good!!!!

I have put up my winter curtains. When it is dark and cold at night it just feel cozy somehow to have these curtains pulled closed.

While cleaning out yet again I found a gift certificate from my work for a local florist from last year. It may be just enough to get me a wreath for my door this year. Good find worth cleaning I guess lol.

Another blog I follow had this question. I am so interested in everyone's answer I will ask it here.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

That photo of the trees in the fog is positively magical!! Somewhat looks like a photo I have used in my header previously. Your rug is looking GREAT!! Your colors are wonderful and your hooking looks perfect. I'm just finishing up a stitching project I promised myself I would finish and then I think I will turn back to hooking for a bit...although the last few I have not bound and feel guilty about that since I typically love binding. (Finishing stitched projects, not so much LOL. Stay bundled and warm...It's goin to be about 13 tonight they say tonight....and we had about 3 or 4" (??) of snow last night so it is really here. Gah! Have a good week ahead Cathy! ~Robin~

I live in the farmland of the eastern shore of Delaware but 1 hour from the beach. Living in a wooded area I do see the occasional wild turkey or two but not the number you saw. Your Fox rug is MARVELOUS and I'm ENVIOUS.

If I could be anywhere right now I'd say "there's no place like HOME".

We had our first flurries today. It didn't stick, then it started to, then it all melted. I am ready for spring...lol.
Your rug is just too sweet.
Try putting a blob of sticky tack under your candles. I use that trick when something won't stand on its own.

Interesting question….where would I be? In recent weeks, I’ve become very much at ease with where I am right now. While there is a long list of places I would love to visit, this is home….where I belong. There is a real tug to the Northeast, though! Love your section of the country! Yes, those turkeys feel quite secure. They need to be finding a hiding place, though!

That dessert looks yummy. Now I'm craving pumpkin pie and I have the fixing to make some. After all, it's still fall.

Your rug is progressing well.

To answer your question, I'm perfectly happy to stay home. I no longer crave travelling to faraway places and as long as I have everything I need, I'll be a homebody. The world is a bit too crazy for me.

Hugs, Julia

I had a customer on Saturday surprised we had a small area for Thanksgiving. First display of Thanksgiving she had seen in a sore for some time. We had snow today. UGH Hope you get your wreath! Janice

I would be right where I am at this very moment...home! There's no place like it you know. Closing the winter curtains certainly may help keep the dark and cold outside. You certainly paint a cozy picture of your home sweet home inside those beautiful curtains.

Rug looks great! Colors on the fox and his sweater are really wonderful.
Still have beautiful reds on the trees here on the Coast. They were late coming out.
Thanksgiving is MY FAVORITE holiday!
Stay well and warm my friend!

At this time of year...I would be right here home in Coastal New England! Nowhere else compares to the beauty and serenity of November.
As the British would say...
"No fruits
No flowers
No leaves...
November!"
Have a good week...

I think I'm not very adventurous because when I saw the question I straight away said "Here, at home"

I love the vintage Thanksgiving decor. Those little Gurley candles are so cute and collectible. I'm glad you found that gift certificate! That was a lucky find! If I could be anywhere...gosh...that's hard...I have always wanted to see France.

I love that foggy pic of the trees! Looks like a painting. Your Thanksgiving candles are so sweet and retro. I have a lot of Thanksgiving decor and I agree that most don't decorate much for this holiday. I'm not ready for the Christmas things yet! Because I've been gone for a good week I'm happy to be home at this time. I just wish all my kids were near by! Have a good week Cathy!

My answer is this: "there's no place like home" - I am selling a Wizard of Oz collection and I have all the quotes in my head! But, for real, my farm. I also love those tavern for Gurley candles. I will share my Christmas ones...if I get them out...ahahaha

Today was blustery and overcast in Nashua, NH, as well and going outdoors for a walk made me think winter will be here soon enough. We've been "fooled" by some warm days like yesterday. You are right in saying that not many people decorate for Thanksgiving, but I have pumpkins and scarecrows and leaves (Dollar Tree is great for decos) outside our apt entry. They have been there since about Sept and will stay until after Thanksgiving when they're replaced by some Christmas items. Afterwards snowmen will be the decorations. I decorate for Christmas and then everything else is seasonal. Enjoyed seeing your Thanksgiving decos which are real classics for sure. As much as we enjoy our getaways and day trips, coming home (wherever that happens to be) is best.
