It's A Puzzle

My Azalea is in full bloom and just beautiful!
When you go near it all you can hear is BZZZZZZZ!

It makes the wait for spring all worth while.

The birds are enjoying the feeder too, we are getting so many different kinds. (Rose breasted gross beak)

Our Sweet B!!! we met at a park and had lunch, we all brought our own food, social distanced, and enjoyed each others company it was a lift for the soul! The sad part was not hugging ugggg!

I run a books store and in the same space just separated by a wall is an ice cream store. So I know the college kids she has working for her pretty well, and  we do very well for such a small space. The bookstore is closed but they are doing take out. I slipped into the the bookstore to do some paperwork and yelled an order over the wall for take out for husband. When I got home one of them had written on my ice cream. Awww made my night. Such nice young adults makes you believe in the world again.

I baked the second half of my croissant dough this weekend.
I had heard about croughnuts. Donuts made from croissant dough so I gave it a try, yummm it was so good and fluffy so glad I only made 4 donuts!

I finished my rug and I love it! Now on to the big one.

This is a biggie 31 x 65 and I have the perfect spot for it.
It is called the Never Never Rug.

The wool I wanted for a background I did not have enough of so I called around no luck, but a friend who owns a store said come on down. Mask on face in I went we did not hug (but we both thought how hard it would be to not to and it was!) I spent my Christmas gift certificate and then some! But to be in a wool store oh be still my heart!

I did some dying this weekend the colors are much more muted than they show here. I did a very dull blue over med gray and a camel brown. I am sure I will use them at some point.

Husband has been working on this puzzle for well over a month and a half! He loves puzzles when he comes in at the end of day. Well he was going though those 1000 pc puzzles every other day so I ordered a 1500 piece yikes and he did it! He has so much patience when I saw it I felt dizzy and went to hook lol.

I am out of work until at least June but maybe later. Fine by me I love being home I just miss the social part of life.
My friend and I are going to try to hike together or something while wearing masks and social distancing. We have been in the house so long that it makes my heart beat a little faster when I am out among people.
****
I learned how to use Roku sticks to get cable. I still have to pay cable but I am going to return the boxes that we pay 7.95 each a month. I am returning 3 so that will help with the bill. I have a Roku Tv and learned how to do that and we bought 2 Roku sticks for the other two TVs. Walmart 29.00 each so it will not take long for us to recoup our money. It kills me each time I open that cable bill and no we have no premium channels.

Have a wonderful healthy week!

Love your birds and pomegranates rug! I did the same one. Accidentally had the paper pattern sized too big. I hooked it anyway and it’s about 2 ft x 4 ft. Those donuts look amazing !
We’ve been going thru the puzzles too.

Oh...those doughnuts look yummy!! I am such a sweet hound LOL!!! Love your finished (well, finished hooking at least) rug! And the new one on your frame looks wonderful as well.... I put the "ambitious" one I mentioned on my frame as well...but, not exactly pleased with my color choices and so am wavering a bit.... Might stitch and consider, consider and stitch LOL.... Puzzles have never been my thing....but I admire those who do do them. Not one of my gifts. I've been struggling with tv choices as well... We have DirectTV at home (no cable available) but it is outrageous...especially given how few channels we actually watch. At the lake we have just use antenna tv and then Prime Video... That would be good at home too, except we don't have a SmarTV and so can't get Prime...and no antenna tv either. I think I will break down and get a new tv there...but will still miss the few channels we get and do watch on Direct.... Noting's ever the perfect mix, is it? ~Robin~

Blooms & bees, birds, ice cream, Sweet B, croughnuts, a completed rug (beautiful), a completed puzzle, and a savings on cable - what a great week! Hope this one is even better:)

First off, your azalea is gorgeous. I have no luck with them. Have planted many but just have one that was here when I bought the house 20+ years ago. It has not yet bloomed this year. I am surprised to see yours in full bloom. Maybe a different variety?
I love your rug finish and your new project looks very ambitious!!!
Sweet Miss B. That had to do your heart good. Happy you still have more time off work and are enjoying it.
That puzzle ~ wow. I would not have the patience, but that's what people say about hooking and stitching. Each to his/her own.
Saving $$ is always good. The only thing I have is Netflix so I spend less than $10 a month on TV.

I'm with you on the cable bills. I just got a $10 increase! So mad! I'm cutting the cord as soon as I figure out the way to do it! Rugs looking good and so does the puzzle! Glad you had time with Miss B. I miss ours and hopefully we'll get together in mid June. Anyway, have a good week!

It looks like you had a fantastic week even though you couldn't physically hug Miss B. She is looking so grown up already.
It's nice when someone says that they missed you. Hopefully, you'll be able to return back to your book store soon.
Your croughnuts looks amazing. I never heard of them but they sure look delicious.
Yay, your rug is all finished and already you got another one on the go. It's a beauty. You may not want to go back to work after all this time at home. I'm enjoying being at home so much also and I'm never bored. I do not know the meaning of the word.
Making puzzles are one of my all-time favorite relaxing hobbies. I could make puzzles for hours instead of watching TV.
Enjoy the new week, stay safe, and well.
Hugs, Julia

Why is it called a Never Never Rug? For me, it would be because I could NEVER NEVER do it!
THat is , I think that is what it said, I am noticing that my eyesight is not as it should be and sometimes what I think I read is not what it really is!
Those croughnuts look good!
And like you, I miss hugging!
Virtual hug to you!!

Hi Cathy,
That azalea bush is just gorgeous!!! We had some once and they actually grew, even though I manage to kill most plants!!
Those donuts look GREAT!!!! My hubby Jeff always says he never met a donut he didn't like!!!
Your rug is just beautiful and a BIG CONGRATS!!! I know that feeling and am happy you are now moving on to the next one!!! Your visit to the shop sounds like heaven on earth, all except for the hugging part!!! Also so nice to see your Sweet B and know that had to be hard not to hug her, too!!! We WILL GET THERE!!!!
We like puzzles but seem to always have something else to do, or we would enjoy working on one!
Happy you got the Roku Sticks and hope that works well for you!! We switched over to Hulu TV and also have a Fire stick! We are really happy with Hulu and have not looked back!!
Hope you and your family have a wonderful Memorial Day!
Heart Hugs~

your rug finish is lovely - great colors ! and your new color plan is coming together so nicely. It's a biggy but having the perfect spot for it makes it worth the time spent to hook it. I never knew Azaleas grew that far north - I thought they were strictly a southern bush. Glad you are happy at home and baking and having hooking fun. Cheers Mel
