Cold Weekend....

This is dark but it shows the shadows on the new snow we got today. (click on it to make it bigger)We will see the eclipse about 11 tonight.

We got about 15 inches of snow and then about an inch of pure sleet! Then back to snow a couple more inches. I am over winter!
It now 6 degrees and falling but the wood stove is happily humming in the basement.

Because there was so much hype on this storm I planned to make a pot roast in my ancient crock pot. A very old wedding present.
but it did the job and was very good.

Then I saw a post on facebook from the King Arthur flour site
For bread machine bread. So I dug my bread machine out and started it up.

Yep perfect! So while we were out doing some clean up it was doing it's thing and smelled so good when we came back in.

I follow this girl called Joy. She has a couple of cookbooks but she
she posts recipes once a week. This is with almond flour, oatmeal,
and raspberry/rhubarb jam. It is so good the sugar is maple syrup even though it doesn't taste maple at all.

I have been working on my next stair riser but I have been reading a fair amount so that has cut into my hooking time.

This made me laugh the squirrel of Judgment lol.

The Saga of my stupid tooth goes on and on, I will be glad to have it all over.
I have tomorrow off but I get to spend it with sweet B which makes my heart happy.
Have a great week everyone!

I have tomorrow off too, but going to the eye doctor. Yikes 15 inches. Roast & fresh bread sounded good for a day like that. Hope you have fun with Miss B! Janice

Congrats to your beloved Patriots. That had to be an exciting game.
I hope your weather improves. I don't think I could survive a New Hampshire winter.
Enjoy your day with Miss B 😘

I'm glad the storm is over. I've seen worst. We didn't get it as bad as it was announced but I was ready too.
Your food looks very good. I haven't made home-baked bread in ages.
I've gotten so lazy lately.
Enjoy your time with Little Miss B.Stay safe and warm. Hugs.

Wow so much snow! I still have my old crock pot like that. Except you still have the lid. I have to use a plate. :)
I hope you get a little warmer weather. Have a lovely day with Miss B.
I hope you have a great week too. Your bread was perfect.

Thank goodness no 15" of snow here but some rain and more to come. What kept me awake most of the night was the strong winds which brought in sub-freezing temps. Tonight, again, with the wind the temps will be sub zero.

Yesterday I made a pot of chili and will eat it cold if there is no way to heat it up. Hope you stay warm and entertained with reading or hooking.

Your bread looks wonderful too! Like I said on my blog - a perfect time of year for it especially with your weather ♥ BTW love your old crockpot :)

This cold is just that, or more like bitter cold.
Baking is great on a cold day.

This weather is crazy.
Going from nearly 45 degrees to -12 practically over night.
It seems we had no spring--just shot from winter to hot and humid and I think I counted about 3 hours of fall before we fell into cold. Then warm at Christmas time and no snow.
Now, in time for the January thaw, we had icy cold and snow piles.

Your weather is similar to ours and I'm ready for spring. I might have to pull out my bread machine one of these days to see if it still works. My favorite meal is a good roast! Work has been weird this week because I'm training in a new area. I may have to blog about it. That should be interesting. Enjoy Miss B!

We didn't get very much snow where I live, but the roads were so icy that it was hard to go anywhere. I'm looking forward to spring!
