An Emotional Week

I found a beautiful new water fall. Ok new to me.
And I have driven by this spot quite a bit but because I had my window down on this day I heard the water.

My brother was here for 8 days. I haven't seen him in 2 years.
Always so happy to see him and of course because he lives in Mississippi he misses good old New England seafood.
And you can see it was chilly while he was here we had a fire that he loved.(brother on the left husband on the right)

The lobsters that we purchased were so full I haven't had lobster that good in a while. So yummy!
When I had to say good-by to my brother it was really hard I never know when we will see each other again.

A couple of weeks ago a friend and I went thrifting
I found an ott light. I got it for 18.00 I didn't have a floor model
just a table top. So very good find for me.
I have also found a local fiber group I am joining this coming Wed.
They are in the next town and meet once a week.
The lady I spoke to said there were a couple of rug hookers.
There are knitters, spinners, and hand sewing. And that a bottle of wine may show up now and then! So I am looking forward to joining them.

As most of you know I lost a very close friend last August.
Her children decided that they would bury her and their father who died 14 years ago (they were both cremated) together at their mother's family cemetery. I think it was a good idea they needed closure.

So this past Saturday, a beautiful warm June day
a few close friends and family said a final good-bye to both of them. I asked her children to please keep in touch. they are very close to my daughter's age and I have known them for years.
But it is all very final and life must go on. My gardens are filled with plants from my friends gardens, they are living reminders of
our friendship. She was my hooking buddy,I miss her so much.
****
It is motorcycle week here so we are staying close to home.
It is hard to move around and the restaurants are full. So we are tucked in the woods where it is quiet and will wait it out before we head out to restaurants and stores.

Have a great week!

That lobster looks good, can tell a good lobster by the shell. In maine we had a good one and the next time it was horrid, should have said something, but we were the last to get one boiled up, so I am sure we got the worst one that was left. Sorry about your friend, we lose so many now, a sign we are all getting older and some go too soon. We always come up after the motorcycle week, but with Bill out for two weeks, he won't take the next week off, so no vacation this year. No good spots at our camps, was hoping to slip into a water spot by finding a cancellation.

Good Morning, That's a wonderful pic of your brother and husband by the fire enjoying the delicious lobster. It's been about ten years since I've visited with my sister, so I understand how special it was to spend time with your brother.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. How special to have her plants to enjoy growing in your garden.
That is a pretty waterfall you discovered. We have many waterfalls here in our area and in my younger years, I sure enjoyed hiking to them.
I wish you a very nice start to the week.

Hi Cathy, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend but I'm glad that your brother showed up and stayed for 8 days. I'm a bit envious of the nice seafood. That lobster looks so tender.
What a great find at the thrift store. I've been wanting to buy one of those Ott light for years but somehow, it never happens. How nice that you found that little waterfall.
I hope that your week will go well despite the Motor Cycle Week.

I'm a bit late but finally planted my potatoes, onions and peas and some flowers. There is still lots to plant but my back can only take so much so a little at a time is my motto.

Take care and have a great week. Hugs, Julia

How nice you got to see your brother. Those lobsters look amazing. I hope you have a nice time at your new hooking group. It is hard when you loose someone so close to you. I would be so excited to have discovered that waterfall. You live in such a beautiful area. Everything is so green. I can't believe that its motorcycle week. It just seems it was here. A whole year has passed. I hope you have a lovely week. I hope your weather stays warm.

You got a GREAT deal on the Ott lite!
Those lobsters. WOW! Haven't had one in years and probably not a very good one.
So hard to lose a friend. Hugs to you, my friend.

It's so nice to see our relatives from far away but always hard to say goodbye. The service you went to for your friend and her husband was good. I hope you have a beautiful day today! Hugs, Diane

I love my floor model Ott light. I don't think I could cross stitch without it.
Adore the Hens and Chickens growing there.

Just stopping by to say hello - it's been a while. Hope all is well with you and you'll see your brother soon! I'm sorry about your friend. I lost a good friend 20 years ago and I still miss her. Friendships are precious.
