This Turkey Is Done

We had a dusting of snow on Friday which was beautiful but
the black ice was not! A little tricky driving to work.

I finished my turkey even though I had a stomach bug
for a couple of days and did no hooking at all. (and it's bound!)

He looks great on my butter churn coffee table. The color is awful
in this picture but trust me it looks cute.

I also made an apple pie and...

For those French Canadian's this English girl
can cook a great pork pie. I had never heard of it when I started
dating my husband and was sure it was awful. Well lots of years later and  with the help of his great aunt I have it! Now I need a nice mince pie.
that is what we had at the holidays made by my very English lineage Grandmother. Ok and homemade fruit cake that was very good (I swear)
***
Hope you are all warm and cozy the cold is here, the beast in the basement is happily keeping us warm as long as we throw in a log or two now and then.
Have a great week!

So sorry to hear you were sick but happy that you are better.
Turkey looks great. It is SO difficult to photograph hooked rugs!!!
Your pie looks so good.

Turkey rug done just in the knick of time. Don't you hate how the flash changes colors of our work?

Oh my, those pies! Happy Thanksgiving early.

That turkey sure looks happy he won't be eaten. Good job to have it all bound on time for Thanksgiving.

I'm french Canadian and your pork pie and the apple pie is making me wish I lived closer. Yum,yum.
I also love mincemeat pies and fruit cakes even though some folks turn their nose at fruit cakes. Not me. I usually make some for Christmas.
Stay safe on the road.
Hugs,
JB

Love how your turkey came out and the variations in the blue background, was it multi-colored wool? I like pot pies, make my own. Is it similar to those?

Our beast is cooking too with temps in the 20's and 3-5in. of snow on the way tonight. Your pies look amazing. I'm not sure about pork pie..I'm not a big pork lover (except ribs!) but I'll take your word for it! My hubby loves fruit cake. I made one a few years ago and he was in heaven. I may have to try it again this year. Your rug is sooo cute! Love the turkey! I'm so sick of all the early Christmas stuff that's around in the stores and on TV...I want to focus on Thanksgiving for crying out loud! I'll be ready for Christmas in December! Have a good week and stay safe and warm!

Oh gosh....I love mince pie, fruitcake etc, but no one in my family likes things like these. Last year I made a mince pie and froze it in individual pieces. It froze well and was a nice treat for many days. I couldn't get over how expensive mincemeat is. A pie to treasure.
Your little rug is cute.
