Today is thrift store day, I got this sweet majolica plate for 3.00 which I think is quite a buy. But do you see a color trend????
In my last post I told you a friend and I went to a rummage sale. To say there was a lot of stuff would be an understatement. So we took about three trips around the hall. On the second trip I got this little beauty! Yep I have wanted one of these forever but for the amount of times I would use it I could not justify the money. This was sitting on the floor in all of its vintage glory. I took the mixer and the book and for five whole dollars they are mine. I plugged her in and she purrrs like the kitten she is. I am convinced that if you want something or need something if you can just wait for it....it will show up in your path for a song. She needs a good cleaning and I am going on line to contact the company to see just how old, I am guessing 70's.I have loved your answers to the questions. If you have no desire to answer the question but want to leave a comment please do. This is just for fun.
I will tell you what I think about this question in the next post.
My husband and I have the creeping crud. Or that is what my mother would call it. Really it is a bad cold but it is a germ that creeps into the house and then everyone gets the crud. Husband has developed bronchitis and is on meds. I hope I can get better before that happens.
It is rainy but a lot of the snow has melted. I think a nap would feel good right now. So I am off to make tea and climb into bed.

Sorry you're sick. Feel better! I stayed home today with the start of a cough! Don't you love the kitchen aid mixer? I have had one for a long time and would be lost without it. The plate is a great find too.
Well, I think common sense is much more important. You can only do so much with a doctoral dissertation when you have to make everyday decisions! LOL

I think common sense is better. When I was a kid, we had some friends - the husband was a College Professor and his wife was a High School Special Ed teacher - so they were intelligent. One night they called my Mom about 11:00 and said they needed her RIGHT AWAY. They had gotten a letter in the mail and they had won a MILLION DOLLARS and they needed her to come read it and see if it was true. Now, my Mom is smart, but she only has a high school education versus their college degrees. When she got there - it was a standard Ed McMahon Publisher's Clearinghouse letter that everyone gets. Since then, I have always thought that very, very intelligent people often have no common sense.
~ And that mixer is the bomb - awesome price!
I love your majolica plate and the mixer looks pretty sturdy. The old appliances are way better than the new one and last for ever. I think that the common sense is more important. I know some intelligent people who don't have much common sense... JB
Wow, what a find-- a stand mixer. That's terrific!
Years ago and far away when I was about 19 I went to my first garage sale. The whole sale was full of those dishes like your plate. I didn't know what they were then but I remember thinking even then they were beautiful! GREAT FIND!
In answer to the question,I would say common sense, intelligence without common sense might be a dangerous thing. Hope you are feeling better soon, the mixer was indeed a steal! Blessings jane
What a great find and buy! I love the mixer. They do last forever and I sure hope mine does too! Sorry you're not feeling well...we call it "multipleuglyosis" at my house. Get well soon! Common sense..hands down!
Common sense for sure!
Wow! That is amazing! You are the luckiest person when it comes to deals.Get better soon!
The answer to me is common sense. Education is wonderful but common sense helps you deal with everyday life and everyday people.Cheri
Great buys on the majolica plate and mixer! The old stuff outlasts the new for sure!
Being intelligent and having common sense together would be my pick. Having to pick one or the other, common sense tells me to pick common sense. Does that make any sense?
Hoping you and Hubby are feeling better soon.!

Wonderful finds. The mixer especially. Older appliances were made to last. I'm still using my Mixmaster that we received for a wedding gift 36 years ago.
Lucky girl! I love mine and I use it a lot. If you need to mix anything you can use it, cakes, whipped cream, meatballs etc!
To answer your question, usually if you have one you have the other.
Hi...Common sense has my vote. Hope you don't get bronchitis. Keep warm, drink lots of fluids, and chicken broth. I hope you feel better soon. Balisha
You are going to love your mixer. I got one about six years ago and use it all the time. I think common sense is more important. Education is wonderful but if you don't know enough to come in from the rain your in trouble.
I vote for common sense :-)

Great finds!
I'd say common sense, though I lack it more than I like to admit...lol!
Hugs :)

I love that plate what an amazing find. I really however love that vintage mixture especially the color.
I would have to say common sense, alot of messy situations could be avoided. Like perhaps my lemon balm fiasco. :D
Take care.
