I got this insert in a newspaper many many years ago.
It has wonderful recipes, but the best one is for whoopie pies.
If you do not know what a whoopie pie is it is two chocolate cake like cookies with a cream cheese filling.
When I was a stay-at-home mom, I would make these for my daughter and husband to take in their lunches.
I am having a love hate relationship with my watercolors.
Someone I follow said learning watercolors is like learning an instrument. Just keep trying and trying. It made me feel a bit better.
We have had snow and sleet and lots of rain. So, it was a happy surprise to see some green coming through the ground.
This is the rug I am going to work on with Michelle Palmer starting tomorrow.

The house is clean, and I am looking forward to the next few days of hooking, friends, food and laughter lots of laughter.

Oh I love whoopie pies - but I’ve never tried to make them - yours look terrific! And the sweet bunny - don’t give up watercoloring - he’s adorable! It sounds like you have fun week planned - good for you.
Those Whoopi Pies look delicious! I think it's wonderful that you are working on water colors. It's always good to learn something new! I hope you enjoy hooking this week. That rug will be beautiful! See you again soon. Have a great week!
OMG, funny thing is I ask myself often ...what was it I just walked in here for?
The woopie pies look delicious. The keep trying and trying is true for anything we wish to achieve and what I did when first learning to hook.
I totally get that first meme! I am glad you are seeing sign of Spring. We have been inundated with rain and wind, here, but it is supposed to dry out and warm up a bit. I am happy about that! That rug looks beautiful but I could never do something like that! I would lose my mind! As if I have a mind to lose...
Grace & Peace,
Pam
I think your watercolors are looking great. Makes me want to try, but I DO NOT need another hobby…lol.
Happy you are having signs of spring. My early booming daffs will be done soon. They are one of my favorite flowers.
Have fun in class with your friends. That is quite the detailed rug you are going to start. Kudos to you for your bravery 😌. I don’t think I’d have the nerve to tackle that.
Whoopie pies! I haven't made them in so long. They look good.
I think water colors are so beautiful. But I'm afraid any done by me wouldn't be so very pretty. :)
That's going to be a nice rug.
I love whoopie pies. Your flowers look like mine. Spring is here finally. Janice
Oooo...those whoopie pies look SOO tempting!! Your watercolor bunny is precious! Such personality! Your choice for you class rug is gorgeous...way too ambitious for me, but I'm sure you will do it up perfectly. I know it's going to be fun to follow along with this one. Enjoy your time with friends and hooking!
Thank you for the meme laugh! I can relate to her but I sure don’t look as dreamy as she does! Have a wonderful week
I have never made whoopie pies sound delicious I know my husband would love them. I really love the pattern for your rug hooking project. glad you are getting some spring popping up Happy new week
Those little green sprouts come up in spite of chilly nights.
Whoopie pies are so gooood!
Good idea about keeping our mind sharp! I haven't had a whoopee pie in ages. I did like your bunny. Have fun with your rug.
Just this week, I saw whoopie pies in the bakery department of a local supermarket and considered a purchase, but resisted because of a weight loss desire sinning out 😕 That said, your homemade ones looked so good, Cathy. We’re having similar weather in NH with a rainy weekend and now light ❄️ on Monday am. No blooms here yet😕
Wow on the rug choice. I love it! Have fun.
My daffs are about as tall as yours. When the sun's out the yellow crocus just shine. They don't seem to open when it's cloudy as it is now. Snow possible tonight. Enjoy your rug hooking gathering.
The whoopie pies sound and look delicious! You have great memories with them too. Love that!
I can't believe I missed so many posts. I love your bunny and your other paintings. I just got some new colors to start practicing, I did get a book with predawn pictures and instructions, so a good way to start. Love the rug you are going to start, that is going to be beautiful.
I like your bunny. It has a wonderful Velveteen Rabbit feel. And that rug will be amazing!
We call them gobs, love the whoopie pies. Looks good. The first meme, very funny. Have a great day, Cathy.
My sister did a rabbit at her watercolor class too. She thought she should stick to landscapes instead, but I thought hers, like yours, came out super cute! I've never made whoopie pies, but I sure loved them when I was young. Have fun with your friends and although the food is great, fun is great, laughter is the best!
