Thrifty Fun

Thanksgiving we got snow about 5 inches before the rain came.
I love the first storm of the season but to those measuring snow in feet I am so sorry. I could not handle it.

We were still left with about 4 inches. I got a bit of walk in the snow, so quiet and lovely. We waited and did all the clean up on Friday

We started Friday with gingerbread scones to give us energy for the clean up.

Saturday I collected my long time friend and my daughter (the teen was just too cool for us lol) and we headed to the thrift stores in Maine. What fun we had!

And at the end of our day we treated ourselves to a lovely late lunch and a drink.
It was such a lovely day of laughter and just being with the my sweet daughter and friend.

On the way out of the last thrift store I spied this! Now if you are not a fan of the movie Christmas Vacation this means nothing. But to my daughter and I we started laughing. and for 2.70 I had to bring it home.

Husband had just come in from outside and I handed him this filled with eggnog. Again he started laughing. Lots of fun for a few $.

****
Today I did a bit of baking, and I am all decorated, the Christmas cards are in the mail. Tomorrow 3 of my sweet friends come for a couple of overnights. I am so looking forward to this. We haven't seen each other since Oct.
Have a wonderful week.

We haven't gotten any measurable snow, but about an hour east in the "snow belt" I believe they got several feet. So pretty, but I am not the least bit jealous.
You really are ready for a fun and busy December. You are way ahead of me...sigh. Enjoy your friend time ;-)

You are positively adorable!! Sounds like a fun day. In my next life I want to be like you and have my decorating and shopping done and a start on my baking all by the first of December and then enjoy the rest of the month getting together with friends, and just having fun! We had a bit of snow on Thanksgiving that stuck, but that's it so far. It did turn wicked cold though. Brrr... Happy December! ~Robin~

Thrifting is so fun! I'm happy you had a great day with your daughter and friend. You are ahead of me with Christmas prep. I just starting decorating and it will get all done but when I hear how far others are with their gifts and such I panic!
Ha! Have a good Monday!

I like snow in theory but in actuality it's inconvenient and also cold. I do love watching it fall while sitting in a warm room.
Have a great time with the friends that are coming over.

Awesome find on the eggnog cup! It gave me a giggle too.

You sure know how to have fun. Miss B is getting tall. That moose mug is quite the conversation piece. Stay warm and cosy.

You are way more together than I am. I love your fun day out with friend, daughter and a lovely lunch too. We got only about two or three inches of snow. Enough to cover, but it's cold enough it's not going anywhere for a bit. Happy week!

No snow here yet, but a few inches are forecast for overnight Wed into Thurs so we shall see if that happens. Nashua was brining the city streets in anticipation. That thrift store find was wonderful and what fun to see your husband enjoying egg nog with the moose mug.
