Kennebunport Christmas Prelude

My sweet friend and I met at her beach house in Maine.
Sat morning bright and early we headed to Cape Porpoise.
We shopped craft fairs and a fabulous church sale.( More on that later)

For those of you who follow Mavis Butterfield we went by her house as we came into town. If you follow her blog she wrote all about how she was decorating her house.

After all the shopping and sightseeing we went to lunch.
This place was A M A Z I N G!!! Batson River restaurant on Mile road in Wells Me, They also have one in Kennebunkport.
All the tv's had the yule log on it and lots of Christmas music. If you come out of there with no christmas spirit there is no hope for you.

We had festive drinks I think mine was white Christmas and hers was Naughty and Nice, both tasty.

There were several trees and also the island of misfit toys. Every surface was decorated.

The two Cathy's who never take selfies lol.
(I am in the glasses)

And after all that we drove deep deep deep into the woods to walk among the lights.

There were little gnome homes all along the route.
It was so sweet to hear the kids with their families seeing the lights and being so excited.

And this morning we woke up to it snowing.

This picture is the sun trying to come out after the storm.
We walked the beach the waves were soothing, the snow festive.

I am home unpacked and I have a stack of Christmas cards to open.
I have made a spiced chai and I am counting my blessings. I will be here for awhile. I am blessed beyond anything I could have dreamed up.
Hoping you are in the Christmas spirit. Remember it is the small things that count.

To answer a question I got about a cookie walk.
It is a fundraiser, lots of people make cookies of all kinds to donate.
Then when you go on the walk you pay a certain price and they provide a container and you walk down the table choosing cookies to fill your container. Hope that helps.

Hi Cathy! That Cookie Walk sounds like lots of fun. You had a lovely pre-Christmas trip to Maine. I have always wanted to visit Maine since I did a report on that state in 5th grade! I hope I can visit one day, but Utah is a long way away. Thanks for sharing your fun trip! See you again soon.

That is one amazing restaurant. I agree you have to be out of your mind if you are not festive when you go in there. The beach looks cold, but I know you had a wonderful time there. Janice

What a beautiful Christmas holiday! I think I need to go to that restaurant as I am not feeling very festive this year. I get why I felt that way last year with my husband passing...and the year before with my mother passing...but I was hoping I'd find the spirit again this year... I hope it shows up soon as Christmas will be here in the blink of an eye. Looking forward to seeing what treasures you came home with. ~Robin~

What a fun get-away.
Lucky you to be all ready for Christmas. I must admit I am a bit jealous…but I am finally getting close!
Will lose many hours this week with “chemo runs”, but family is more important than anything else!!!

What a beautiful time you had! Love the looks of that restaurant! That lighted walk looks like our candy cane trail here in Ashland. We got into the Guinness book for the most lights on metal trees in the world! Cute pic of the two Cathy's but I think you need one with a Kathy with a K to make triple trouble! Ha!

Well, one couldn't read this post and NOT be in the Christmas spirit at the end. I can't believe what a fantastic time you had! That restaurant -- wow. And I loved the selfie, the cute truck, everything. Thanks for the explanation of the cookie walk. I need that festivity!

I like the Cookie Walk fund raiser. I bet that there were some tasty creations.
My wish for everyone this Christmas is that everyone have peace and love in their heart and that they count their blessings. Having good health, a loving family, and good friends to share a laugh or two.
I like the selfie of you and your friend.
Hugs.
