The End Of Fall Is Near

It is officially soup weather! Yeah! I could live on soup.
New Chicken soup with dumplings recipe I found in the food and wine magazine.
Usually that magazine has crazy ingredients I have never heard of, but this was perfect I had everything needed.
I am not a dumpling person, but we took it to a family gathering and it was a hit. Let me know if you want the recipe, I will post it here.

A simply beautiful day almost 70 and sunny.
This will be the last of the fall pictures we have wind and rain coming in on Friday into Sat morning. All the leaves will be blown off the trees, a very sad sad time.

The last fair of the season is done husband and I went on the last day in the last couple of hours. So, we didn't have to pay to get in and the crowds had thinned out. We ate our fill and walked through the craft barn.
There were only two hooked pieces. This pillow...

and This very large pooh rug. Both very nice
This hand stitched piece was wonderful!! The colors are amazing.
I have a very fun few days planned with my very sweet friends.
It includes dressing as witches and getting out our hooks for a great rug hooking event. I promise to take lots of pictures of the fun!
Have a wonderful rest of your week!

LOL! That picture of you is a hoot.
I would love the recipe. It seems every time I want to try a recipe I don't have many of the ingredients either.
Have fun with your fellow hookers. Yes! Please take lots of pictures (because I always forget to!).

I could also live on soup and not fond of dumplings either but perhaps whole wheat pasta could be used instead? Ya know you could always just include the recipe using a hyperlink when doing the post rather than going back and posting the recipe later, lol.

Our fall colors are at their peak, but in a couple of weeks, we will know that winter is on the way. I love that big Winnie The Pooh Rug. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Soups are indeed wonderful and what I most love about this time of year as well. I have never made a chicken and dumpling soup but sure yours was delicious. Looking forward to the photos of your gathering with friends.

One of the best things about fall are the crafts fairs. We used to go to a large one every October, but these days we are mostly content to stay home. I am sure you are soaking up on all that beauty before it's gone.

I love soup and I love fluffy dumplings too so it might be nice to get the recipe, especially since it was a big hit at the family gatherings.

I hope that fall isn't over yet, I don't want winter too soon. I'm not a winter person anymore. I've had too many fall on the ice and my shoulder got damaged a few years ago.

You make a friendly-looking witch. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your hooking group.

That Winnie the Pooh rug is amazing.

Hugs,
Julia

Yes, this time of year is going by fast but you are doing a great job of enjoying it all! I love that pic of you and I can't wait to see the witch hooking gathering. That soup looks delish. Chicken and dumplings is a favorite of mine and my Mother-in-law would always make it for me on my birthday. I sure miss her! Our weather has been so pretty and this weekend is the peak for tree color. It's been a great Fall so far. I love the chilly, soup time but not so much the freezing snow time sure to come soon!

I love soup and we just had beef vegetable with tortellini instead of noodles last night. It was also a new recipe and we loved it! Since the cooler weather is coming in, soups will again be on the menu weekly. Your new recipe sounds good too! Also love that Pooh rug. Such talent. Janice

I love, love, love soup and have already been making it. (Truthfully, I think I could eat soup every day of the year.) I am always looking for new recipes that someone I know has tried, so yes, please post it! I think I already told you that as soon as our fall color peaked, the wind and rain kicked in and the leaves were mostly gone. We didn't even get to 40ยบ today. Brrr.... I know that will feel "warm" as winter settles in but these "early" colds chill me through and through it seems. My body just hasn't acclimated yet. Have a wicked good time at your gatherings...love the photo of you! ~Robin~ (PS...that Pooh rug is AMAZING!)

Pouring rain here in the Upper Valley as I write this. Our rain gauge says almost 3 inches of rain but still doesn't make up for the deficit this year. leaves are coming down fast. It was glorious while it lasted.

That soup looks delicious, would love the. recipe. I have seen all the photos from the foliage group, it was beautiful up in the mountains. We are getting a lot of coloring, coming in fast now. That sounds fun, I haven't done anything in years. We have an event where the ladies dress up in their witch outfits and paddle board into the harbor, tempted to do it myself.
