By The Light Of The Moon

Last night after dinner we took a little ride to the local covered bridge to watch the moon come up over the lake. We are tucked in the woods so by the time we see it get up over the trees the orange of the day is gone.

It did not disappoint! It was a glorious harvest moon!

While we stood on the bridge waiting for it to rise, we met the nicest people it was just a lovely 45 minutes.

And there was lots of spider activity going on. I love seeing their work I just want nothing to do with it being near me.

Friday night a town south of us had a street dance. It involved food trucks and live music so off we went. Well, the wicked witches of the lake's region were there to perform. (They have a facebook page) What a fun group of ladies.

They danced around their cauldron the kids loved it and joined it. Maybe in retirement I should join them!

I finally made my broom from my trip to Salem Ma. it was fun and pretty easy I added the sunflower from some flowers my husband gave me.

I am finally feeling better the symptoms I was having mostly have subsided with the med change. Such a relief, but now that it is fall, I need to get back to my pursuits. This is the week I usually go to Star Island but this year I decided to stay home. I have a couple of other things I want to do, and the price of things keeps going up, so I had to pick and choose. Maybe next year. I will surely miss it.
I am going back to the little fiber group at the library on Tuesdays to hook and I have a couple of things scheduled for October, so I am hopeful.
I did pick up my book again. The historical fiction of Hamilton. I didn't know how much I didn't know about that time in our country.
This book is fiction but well researched.

Trying very hard to not make quick judgments of people a very bad habit of mine.

I was sad to hear of the queen dying my grandmother was a very big fan of hers. I need to dig out the couple of things I have that were my grandmothers that has pictures of a very young queen on them.

Have a wonderful week!

You've got your witch's broom for when you join the ladies around the cauldron. I would love to see that event and will look for their FB page. Wonderful moon and I too hate spider webs and will often walk into a string spanning trees in my yard. Hate that when it sticks to you.
I'm not going to Cape May this month and I'm okay with that and hope the new organizers get their act together for next year. Just received the registration form for next April's rug camp in OC which I often attend. Good grief they changed the venue so price increased and if I stay at the hotel it will cost $1,125 and they reduced the dinners to just one night. So higher cost and fewer meals.

We saw the glorious, orange moon here, too. That looks like a fun group of women, who dance around cauldrons! -Jenn

Almost thought your covered bridge was one near here: Cornish-Windsor Bridge. The moon shown through my window on Friday night.

A couple came in today at the store and told me that the Queen had sent her a letter for her 100th birthday. She was originally from Australia. She passed this week along with the queen. What a fantastic moon and bridge! How fun to have travelling witches. I bet they were a big hit with everyone! Love your lil broom too. A nice touch with the flower. Janice

Jack and I sat on the deck and enjoyed the full moon as it lit up the back yard. Magical. I love that street dance and yes, you need to join the witch group! Too funny! I know what you mean about projects and I hope you get all of yours done and can find time to keep enjoying your favorite time of year! I have many projects also and will check off the list as time goes on. Some will have to wait for next year as prices certainly have gone up on everything and we have to pick and choose the most important ones. Have a good week Cathy!

I see my first comment didn't go through. I must have forgotten to click publish. I saw the harvest moon through the upstairs bathroom window and it was magnificent.

I'm not a monarchist but the Queen was a remarkable woman and I have much admiration for her. She was so dedicated to her duties as a queen. Her act will be hard to follow. I like that she states that she has lived her life following Christ's teaching in all that she did. King Charles III has big shoes to fill.

I'm sure the witches' group will quickly grow as they seem to attract a lot of attention in the street.

You go on such fun adventures! I'm not sure they are the same "coven," but I have seen videos of them dancing and it's pretty incredible. That moon is beautiful on the water. No moon sightings here with the rain and gloom. A bit south of us they actually had to close the interstate and used snowplows to try to get the water off the highway. Love your Salem broom...and am so glad you are feeling better. I am so used to not having any fun events in my life that I guess I no longer miss it, but I know you'll miss your trip to the island. ~Robin~ (PS...glad you picked up your book again!)

So happy you are feeling better.
Great that you have a new fiber group to hang out with and soon will be time for your rug camp. It is good for the soul.
Sad about Star Island. There are a couple camps I would love to attend but not willing to spend that much $$.
The Harvest Moon was incredible!!!
