April Snows...

Spring just can't seem to find it's way to NH.

We have had snow and ice just in the past week. I would love to see the flowers and the warm sun.

So we took this cold weekend and spent a few hours at the local spa. We swam in the pool..

That goes in and outside. Our little fish just couldn't get over swimming outside in the cold. (beyond the fence is an ice covered lake) lots of fun!

I had a massage, then we all lined up for a pedicure. This little one  had the time of her life. My daughter reported that sweet B kept talking about what a good time she had.

This morniing it was sleeting and pinging against the windows.
So I made some popovers, cooked some bacon, and enjoyed being tucked in for the day.
And a pot roast for dinner all to yummy.

There is a big Necco wafer candy scare since the company has
announced that it will go out of business if they don't find a buyer.
So I got us a few for old time's sake. Not sure if it is just a New England thing?

I am still hooking on my stair risers and working.
We are off for a fun weekend next weekend.
Have a wonderful week!!

This weather is crazy, yesterday we spent at the beach, today it is freezing. Looks like a nice way to spend a cold day, I love the places with indoor/outdoor pools. I love popovers, but for some reason mine will not rise lately, think the oven is not the right temp.

It looks like you're having a great time despite the inclement weather. My, that little Miss B. is surely living it up with a pedicure and such. Those popovers are looking mighty tasty.
I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on those stair risers.
Stay well, spring is just a little shy. I feel bad about all those poor little robins who returned home last week. I'm sure the worms are still underground.
Hugs, Julia

Looks like Miss B and you had a grand time. It was sleeting, freezing rain and rain here in Michigan. Over 310,000 without power tonight, but thankfully we have it. We sell Neccos in our store. I had heard they might be going out of business. The oldest candy company in the US. Such a shame that the New England Confectionery Company may go out of business. They also make the Valentine Conversation hearts. Janice

I haven't had a Necco wafer in decades!
What a fun time for Miss B. I love the pic of her swimming outside :)

Oh my goodness! You sure do know how to make the best of a winter's day! I would have loved to tag along with all of you! :-) Thanks for the heads up on the Necco wafers! I consumed hundreds of roles of those during my childhood....the chocolate ones being my favorite! These days I can only find them through mail order.

I love Necco wafers! I heard about the company and hope someone will buy it. What a fun day you had. We had snow again today but tomorrow it's suppose to be in the 50's..I prefer it like last week with the 70's making a visit! Have a good week!
