Keeping Busy

We got snow last night 5 inches, when we were suppose to have a dusting to 3. Made for a pretty day and a stand out visitor.

Can you see him now? Yes a cardinal! He was surveying the land before he made his trip to the feeder. He was so red in all the white he glowed. We went into warmish weather so the snow melted a bit. We are going into a warm week, can spring be around the corner?

I had a customer pop in last week to give me this bag she made for me. I work in a used bookstore and she is one of our long time customers. It made my day she was so sweet to think of me.

We got to see sweet B on Sat, on the way home I got husband to stop at a shop I love and treated myself to this large pin cushion. that thimble is normal size so you can tell how large it is.

My daughter gave me back a couple of pieces to fix that I had made for them. They have pets! At first I was put out that they were not better taken care of but my daughter had a point she said " I want them to be out to show them off not hidden away." So I will fix them and pray for the best.

I have transferred 3 of my stair risers but now I have to decide what the background should be because that is what I think ties them together.

I have been growing sprouts that will go on my sandwiches,
they grow fast this was in just one week! I will eat these and then regrow some more until I can plant a garden again.
Have a great week everyone.

My rugs get ruined, which is why I am not making more for the house.
Those are not too bad and it is nice that we can repair them ourselves.
I would pick a color that matches the area you are putting them in and one that you can live without in each piece.

I'm catching up on my blog friends and I had to check out a few of your posts I missed. Your hubby really came through with that amazing weekend away. He is a keeper! Love all your new finds and growing your own sprouts is very healthy. I'm waiting for Spring and it looks like we get a teaser on Tuesday with 70de temps predicted. We also got snow last night but only about an inch. Your cardinal in the snow covered tree was cool and reminded me of a pic I shot a few years back. I love that pop of red! However, I know you and I are both ready for a pop of green grass and yellow sun! Bring on spring!

I've never tried to grow sprouts but then again I've never done a garden. I bet they are good. Say, your hubby planned a wonderful outing for you both, bet you had a great time. How thoughtful of him!

Your stair risers will be wonderful. What an ambitious project!
Your daughter has a point about the rugs, but still to see all that hard work destroyed. OUCH! Thankfully you can repair them. What we put up with for our furkids.
Like Yaya said, we will get a taste of spring in Ohio this week but we know it's not over...sigh.
Hope your week is off to a great start!

I love spouts on salads as well as on sandwiches. I should check to see if I can buy some of those seeds somewhere. Where did you get yours? Doubt Walmart has them so will check Food Lion.

Cannot wait to see your stair risers finished. It was Foggy and rainy today, but better than snow. So ready for Spring! Interesting how you grew your own sprouts. Janice

My daughter said the same thing about the rugs and quilts I have given to her and her family. I do think it is better than after my grandmother died and we found all of the gifts she was saving. That broke my heart, so I do think its better to be used up.
Your stair rugs are going to be so awesome. I think it would be so nice to get to see cardinals. He really does show up there in all of that white.
How nice for one of your old customers to think of you and make that bag. People are so sweet.
Thank you for stopping by my blog too. I loved your comment.
Have a wonderful evening,

Hi Cathy, it's Marilou from NY, I see you have been busy, the stair treads are going to be great hooked, I am signed up for this year again. Look forward to seeing what you have been working on until then.

Stop in from Onward and Upward. It been a long time since I made sprouts. I like them in sandwiches.
Your weather sort of look like ours, here in North Idaho.
If you have time stop in for a cup of coffee

The Cardinal is gorgeous among the snowy branches. Just yesterday I saw a scarlet tanager on a tree in our backyard. I love your new pincushion - it always lifts my spirits to get a new special gift.
