Making Tracks

I was lucky enough to go snow shoeing with my sweet friend Cathy
Our first trek of the season was into this waterfall as you can see not much water was running.

This is what it looked like the last time we hiked in.

Saturday was a beautiful winter day. So my friend Cathy and I
headed out on the lake in our snow shoes

It couldn't have been more beautiful we went pretty far across the lake.
There were people ice fishing (big tournament this weekend),
people skating, snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling. but as you can see it was still pretty quiet out there.
And it felt good to have the sun on our faces.

This book is so wonderful, I try to read before bed but since I have been getting all of this exercise
I fall asleep the first paragraph.

Great place to go snowshoe walking. I can imagine how fun that would be to ski on, but not with snowmobiles.

Looks beautiful and with all that exercise, just think how great your legs will look when shorts-season gets here!

Looks like something I'd like to try if I could snowshoe when it's about 70 degrees.
Hugs :)

What a wonderful way to spend the day! All that fresh air and sunshine must have felt so good...I'll bet you slept like a baby!

Goodness the snowshoeing must be great cardio. When I was younger I did cross country skiing (as opposed to downhill) and that was a work out. I've often wondered if the shoes still sink down into the snow or if you sorta walk on top.

Anita Shreve is a favorite here, but I am behind on reading her latest books. It sounds very cold there!

Beautiful day indeed, and isn't it great that you have a good friend to enjoy it with? Wonderful.

Spring will be here before you know it and it looks like a beautiful area that you live in. More great outings.

I will be snowshoeing this coming weekend up a Breton Woods, I can't wait. The lake looks lovely.

I need to get outside and do a bit of hiking in the woods here. I'm so tired of looking out of windows at the snowy scenery! Sounds like a lovely way to spend time with a friend!

What a beautiful place to snowshoe. I can't even imagine spending a day like this because I would probably freeze to death within the hour. haha
I will have to see about finding this book. I love it when my blogging buddies tell me what their reading.
Tonight I am watching the Olympics and cold watching all the snow. lol
No hope for this Texas gal.
Stay warm
