What I Did On My Summer Vacation

I cooked a little ok a lot

I made drunken cherries to be opened at Christmas.

and I cooked some more using up some zucchini. This casserole
was very yummy and a great no meat dinner.

I went to the Christmas tree shop and got lots of goodies but this
is the most yummy! if you see it get it great on sandwiches
and I used it on bruschetta. I will try to make a mixture of this at  some point.

We got Miss B overnight, we had so much fun, she is in love with fire trucks!
She has the perfect Pepe for that he has the keys to the fire station.:)

We kayaked a fair amount and tried a new lake it was nice but
the wind kept coming up and the paddle back was a work out.

We became tourist in our own state really our own area. Isn't this beautiful.
This is part of the white Mountains very near us.

I decorated my door! this is a horse collar (really a pony collar) that I wrapped with
battery powered lights and added some ferns from the yard.

We went ta da dump and found a doll house wiring kit
marked 36.95 that I hope we will wire the doll house we started for our
daughter and hope to finish for our grand daughter.
***
I went out to dinner a lot and had wonderful seafood.
I also went to a play with a friend.
I cleaned out cupboards and really cleaned bathrooms.
worked in the gardens and harvested lots of veggies from the our little garden.
***
It was a staycation but a great vacation.
and now I am sad to say I have to go back to work tomorrow  :(
but very glad I have a job to go to.
have a great week everyone!!!!

If I lived there, I would stay home too, lol. What lake did you paddle? We have paddled a few in the area and always love doing hikes around the mountains. We might try a long weekend in September, was thinking of staying at the steel head resort and my daughter wants to come, so will see how things are going this fall.

I think staycations are less stressful and I have tons of places here in Ohio that I've never been. I've lived here for over 30 yrs, I should take more staycations! Sounds like you enjoyed the time off and accomplished much. You live in a beautiful place! It is good to have a job, but that first day back is a killer!

Good heavens but you were one busy woman on the so called 'vacation'. I love zucchini and wonder if your casserole is layered with zucchini, pasta sauce and topped with mozzarella cheese or if it is something different. It does look YUMMY.

Great door decoration and by the sound of it it wasn't a boring vacation.
Would you share that zucchini casserole. It looks so YUMMY and I love zucchini.

Miss B. looks so grown up and sweet in that big fire truck.

It sounds great. And I think that casserole looks so yummy. Zucchini are plentiful this year. Miss B looks sweet in that truck. My uncle was a firefighter and I loved going to the station with him.

It sounds like you packed an awful lot into your staycation. I think they are the best vacations anyway.
