The Last Weeks Of Summer

Up early this morning watching the sun come up. And wishing it wasn't
August. Summer is coming to a close here and it wasn't much of a summer.
Lots of Rain to start with then the humid hot weather of the south (We live
in the north) Then the great weather came and has stayed for awhile.
My veggie garden is limping along but we have zucchini
I made bread from it and it makes a great breakfast.

The kayaking and loons have been wonderful

But the sun sets lower in the sky and the days are shorter.
I am not looking forward to winter and the heating bills.
so I will enjoy what we have now and try to stay in the moment.

I am thankful for this day!

It really seems like this summer is shorter, lol.
We had a cool week, and heat coming back next, so this weekend I will get out and enjoy the water while I can.

It has been a short summer, but I love these mild beautiful days.

Thankful for every day, aren't we. I seem to sigh a lot lately--as I see some color already on the trees across the street. We have had a lovely summer For everything, there is a season. I hope our winter is as nicely behaved as our summer has been.

I noticed last night how short the days are getting. I'm not looking forward to winter but am happy that horrible humidity is gone.

Would like a piece of your zucchini bread! Haven't made any this summer, I need to get busy. I posted about August too just a few minutes ago. Have a great day!

Summer always seems to be too short and fly by waaay to quickly, even here in the South - I can only imagine how you Northern neighbors must feel. But yes, we give thanks for another new day, regardless. Your Zucchini Bread looks WONDERFUL!!

I've noticed that the darkness is coming earlier in the evening and the grass is greener this August. Also I've noticed that there are a lot more little frogs in the grass lately from all the rain we've had.

It hasn't beer a regular summer but we still have lots to be thankful for. Today, I'm thankful for my son in law arriving from Ottawa safe and sound. James was happy to see his daddy.

have a safe weekend.
Hugs,
JB

It is getting darker earlier and lighter later...I know it's coming..the dreaded "S" word..people in warm climates don't realize how we northerners enjoy the summer but keep in the back of our minds that winter is so close! It's hard to forget! Well, enjoy your yummy bread, sunshine, and that gorgeous lake! There's still some nice days left!

Ugh! In my mind it should only be June. My own little fantasy land. It's now dark in the morning and dark at night when I walk Ellie. I know hate is a very strong word, but I HATE it!!!
Hugs :)

In reality, Autumn is my favorite season and I am already looking forward to September. I may have to change that viewpoint, however, since I NOW live in the land of a lot of Winter SNOW! I understand your love of Summer though...

Blessings,
