A Little Apple Picking And A Little More...

Pepe I will show you where the best apples are.
She is holding his little finger. This is such a blessing
considering what we have been through in the past year.

It was a perfect day and it was Miss B's first apple picking.
She is growing so fast.

Well you know I hit the dump this week annnnd
it was pretty good! This is the second book I found at
the dump(ok recycling center)of Julia's.
I used her crust recipe for the apple pie in the oven right now.

These are plastic dishes never used. they will go
into my camping tote. For that once a year camping trip.

The bottom one is just white Pyrex the top one has never
been in the dish washer. The funny thing is that was a design
that I chose when I got married for my every day dishes.
So I have lots to go with it.

I also found a pedestal dish that is quite pretty.
I thought during the holiday season I would use it to bring something
pretty to a party and leave the dish for the hostess.

There was also this hand carved bird that I thought had
such a great primitive look and I have already taken him off
the board and put him on something else.
the leaf dish is a copper tone dish made in mass.

We are expecting our first frost this week so it may be the last
of the tomatoes. Boo Hoo. I have made 2 batches of sauce.
I have enough for one more batch it should keep us for
the winter.   Have a great week!

Miss B is just too cute and yes, she sure has grown. She looks just precious and brings you so much joy.

You can't go wrong with a nice Julia Child cook book. Great finds.

That first picture is wonderful. I think that one needs to be enlarged and framed. It just makes me smile and think of all my outings with my grandfather.

Mmmmm....I think I can smell that delicious pie! I love to go to the apple orchard. That is a sweet pic of your hubby and Grandkiddo. She's adorable! What great finds at the dump too...pyrex is hot stuff these days! Those will be some fancy dishes for camping and I love the little bird. Enjoy this week and I hope the frost holds off just a wee bit yet. The coldest morning we've had is around 44de. Next week we're suppose to get some chillier days. I do love fall..have I mentioned that lately?

Hi dear friend
I too thought of you a thousand times last week. I would look in the direction of where I thought New Hampshire was and smile.
We could not have ask for better weather and I have to tell you I love love your home state. It is just gorgeous.
Hopefully my computer lets me share more pictures of my trip.
You always make me smile when I come by for a visit. You know you have me wanting a slice of that pie right now. I realized after I was on my way home that Christi and I did not have any desert while we were away. Except for an ice cream cone. lol
Your finds as always are wonderful.
Are your leaves changing? So wish I could of spent another week and drove on further.
Love
Maggie

A dish that has never been in the dishwasher?
Is that possible? "Not in my world". LOL
I love a "find" - Good job!!

Apple Picking! You know how delinquent I am in that regard. My apples are destined to rot on the ground. Sigh...someday.
I hear reports that you are likely to get some frost tonight. We had high winds last night and lost power x 2 hours. We are very close to the ocean, and so we don't get the real high temps (hence taking down my screens) nor the real lows (not likely to get frost tonight).
Love your dump finds. My favorites are the plates and the coppery leaf dish. My best find lately is a pie bird! Never had one before -- now I really need to get on the ball with making an apple pie. Maybe this weekend.
Happy wishes for you and hubby and Miss Baby from across the border!
