Since David is going nuts being cooped up in the house we went to the attic and dug out the doll house that was going to be my daughters but it never was finished. She was probably Miss Baby's age when we got it for her. David built it and never went any further. So now he has a project..........
I dusted and cleaned out some old carpet we had put in years ago now he has a blank slate to have some fun.We traveled to Boston for his weekly appointment today. It was a good appointment he has gained a little weight, they are very happy with his progress. It was a rainy foggy day so when we got home I lit the fireplace.
And baked some cookies, David found the recipe in the Old Farmers Almanac. They are very much like short bread cookies. Poppy seed raspberry filled cookies.
We are expecting some snow tonight 3-5 inches, booo I do not want to deal with snow this year.
My Christmas memory, I was 5 or 6 and was all tucked in bed on Christmas eve. Outside of my bedroom window was a porch roof. The wind was blowing and the moon was shining on the snow. All of a sudden there was a loud bang and I could see the out line of antlers in my window moving yikes. I was so scared Santa had landed on the porch roof by accident! and he was going to see me awake and LEAVE! I went under the covers and at some point fell asleep under there.( A tree fell in the yard and branches landed on the roof and were blowing back and forth so it looked like antlers shadows in the curtains and the scratching of the branch on the window and roof sounded like reindeer hooves. esp to a little girls imagination. And of course I didn't put it all together until I was much older)
We are watching old Christmas movies every night, tonight is The Preachers Wife with Loretta Young, David Niven and Carry Grant. If you haven't seen it you need to, such a sweet movie.

Those cookies sound yummy.
I love you childhood Christmas' memory. I think that believing in Santa made us behave well. Thanks for sharing that memory. Stay warm and safe. Hugs, JB

I loved your story, what a great memory! I hope he continues to do well, and enjoys working on the house! That is my most favorite Christmas movie of all, a friend bought me a copy a few years ago for a gift! It's A Wonderful Life, and The Bells Of St. Mary's fall in right after that!
Amazing doll house. Good to hear David is doing well. Prayer lifted. Your Christmas story is so cute. Oh snow. I for sure do not want any yet. Blessings!

I am so happy to here that David is on the road to a complete recovery! What a wonderful Christmas present for you both and for your family too. Your dollhouse is darling and will be the perfect creative project for David while he recovers. Creativity is so perfect for the healing process. Love to you both.

What a sweet childhood story!
I love it.
I'm glad David received a good report.
Those cookies look so yummy. But also like a lot of work!!
I hope you enjoyed the movies! I love the doll house and I bet Miss Baby will too if that's where it's going to end up. I so happy that David's appointment went well and he's making such good progress. We just got a dusting of snow yesterday and I'm really not wanting 3-5 like you. I'd be happy with just a dusting all winter. We really don't need all the moisture right now. We've had flooding here all week!
Ah honey love how you ended this great post telling us your Santa memory. I could just picture you covering up your head because I would of done the same thing. lol
So happy you found a project for sweet hubby to do and it's a wonderful way to spend some winter days. Can't wait to see the finished project.
Wanted to come by and say hello and to give you heads up about another neat giveaway that I am having this week. I do hope you can enter and good luck on winning. You never know what number that generator thing will come up with. lol
