We were not able to go to the ocean this weekend because it rained and rained and rained! andddd it is still raining. Husband is thin and gets cold so easy so we stayed home. Our friend called and wants us for 2 nights next weekend. So fingers crossed we will be able to go. It is motorcycle week here in the lakes region bikers come from everywhere and have a lot of fun. It always seems to rain during their week.
I did get to one barn sale I spent 2.oo this is is seam binding, I can use the red plaid on my porch cushions and the rest I thought I would use as ribbon on gifts.
and I found a plate that goes with my pottery I am trying to collect, 1.00 my first plate. On ebay they run about 20-30.00 each. Not sure I want to collect them at that price I will take the slow road.
On sat night husband wanted to go to a local auction house it is a very country place and you can get things pretty reasonable. So we got a what's it. I think it is two pieces put together, the bottom part is a stool and the top not sure.
So this is our thoughts that the center had a metal insert and it was a ice bucket or a place to chill wine. Wine glasses fit nicely on the rim. It needs a good cleaning but I would love to know really what it is.
When we finished our walkway we spent a fair amount on this light. It is copper and fits the style of our house perfectly.
At the auction I almost fell over when this came up, it is copper and almost the same as the expensive one. I got it for 25.00 a steal! This is going at the end of our drive.
My husband has lost a lot of weight and the doctor said you need to forget anything you followed before I want you to drink whole milk, real butter, shakes and ice cream all you want. So all of it is in the house and I have taken his advice and eaten it all! problem is he wasn't talking to me. During stress I either not eat at all or I try to eat the problem if you know what I mean. The clothes are getting tighter and I need to stop before they have to cut me out of the house. So wish me luck I am getting on the tread mill. Have a great week.

I love fresh eggs! Hence the wanting of the chickens! I love the light you found. And the cool wine holder. We had rain too, and then some. It resulted in a very wet yard sale. I'm like you...real stress...lose weight. Moderate stress...eat. During my job search, I was thinning down. Now, well, not so much. Isn't packing an exercise?
Have a good week, you guys!
Courtney
I'd eat it all too! My grandfather used to go up to the lake for Bike Week. I think it was more mellow back in those days :).
What great finds! Wow! That wicker table thing is interesting??? I'm curious! ;)Alyssa
looks like some great finds! Oh my - you made me giggle about the cutting you out of the house - i'm sure that will never be the case. Hang in there!
Cathy ~
LOVE the copper lantern. Very cool.
The weight goes on so quickly. I was so good since last July and for the last month haven't watched and have already gained 5-6 pounds. GGGGRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! I admire your discipline :)
Hugs, dear friend!

Cathy, I was told the same thing when I had chemo for breast cancer. They encouraged me to eat fatty stuff so I wouldn't loose weight. I didn't had much appetite near the end but I was forcing myself to eat.
That thing is quite intriguing. Does the bucket comes out? Couldn't it be used as a planter for a trailing plant? It's quite a conversation piece. Nice finds.
So sorry about the bad weather. It would have been nice to get away for the weekend. I'm keeping your husband in my prayers and you too since his illness is also affecting you too. Stay hopeful and take it one day at a time. I care. Hugs, JB
Hi Sweetie...
I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the rain will stop and next weekend you and DH will be able to go to the shore. What fun that will be. You could use a little get away.
Love your bindings and treasures you found. Your whatsit, now that is something else. I have never seen one of those. Love that lantern though and how beautiful it will be at the end of your driveway. Lighting the path to the house.
Have a wonderful week sweetie. I keep you both in my prayers. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
What wonderful eggs. I am hoping your week gets better and better.
Cathy,
That is a very interesting wicker piece! I hope someone does know what the original use was and comes forth. I like your idea for the wine glasses and chiller. Perfect!
I know what you're saying about the high calorie goodies. I can't keep it in the house and struggle with weight even when I think I'm being good. Now I can blame it on the thyroid I guess! It' never easy.... but David should enjoy it for sure! Did the Dr. ever mention Ensure drinks to you? My Mom was put on that when she got sick and only weighed 90 lbs. She got to hating it after awhile and now won't touch the stuff. But it will make you gain wait.
LOVE the lamp and that red seam binding!
Hugs!

I nice quiche made with cream and good cheese would be could for your husband and there is nothing better than back yard eggs for it. The copper lantern is wonderful and I'm not sure what the wicker thing is but I love it. The weekend was rather rainy, damp and cold so staying put was a good idea.
hi
i love fresh eggs.nice items have you found.
have a wonderful week,
love regina
great scores! glad I found your blog!!!!
Ugh...I always eat when stressed and that is OFTEN!! Love your purchases and hope it quits raining for you soon!
I have the same eating habits. Good luck with the treadmill! :)
I love your lantern.
That wicker thinga ma jiggy is really interesting. I've been looking at vintage wicker online, but couldn't find anything like it. Is is three pieces put together? Old wicker is worth lots of money...you might have a treasure there. Balisha
Jack has a patient that always gives us eggs..just like an old time Doc getting paid in food! I don't like to eat them but I love to bake with fresh eggs. Everything really comes out nice. Your hubby's diet is exactly what's in my fridge..unfortunately. Great find in the lantern, but the basket thingie is a head scratcher for sure...haven't a clue as to what it's use is. Have fun on the treadmill..is that even possible?
Cathy, there's a recipe on my blog for a delicious pound cake that uses real butter, 6 eggs, and other good stuff. Taste good and has plenty of calories! Glad you had a good weekend.
Ooh, I'd love some hens Cathy, but sadly just don't have the room. There's NOTHING like fresh eggs is there?
Love your stool, and it's topper - how curious! I think the wine idea is fabulous though ;o) Your lanton is really beautiful - great find!
Hope that Hubby is okay. I know exactly what you mean about stress eating, sigh :o(
Thanks for leaving your comment about 'Mrs Tiggywinkle'! To answer your question - is a resounding NO! They forage in the soil and eat worms, beetles, catapillars and other invertabrates - though should they find a birds egg they certainly wouldn't ignore it. They do eat slugs too, but I've discovered that they would only be a small percentage of it's diet - which is be a good job as slugs carry a type of lung worm that can kill hedgehogs.

Hope you have a good week, and David is feeling good. Sending positive, happy thoughts.

Love your wicker whatsit! Wine server sounds good to me, too! How's your hubby's weight? They lose faster than us and gain slower than us ~ not fair, is it? I put on 3 pds. of the weekend ~ while I was watching what I was eating!! It's a life isn't it? Hang in there! Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!
I do wish you luck on the tread mill because I know exactly how you feel. I am thinking of Weight Watchers.
Your finds are great and I think your right about the wine bucket.
Please I am begging you to send that rain to my part of Texas...we are in a severe drought...so rain would be awesome here.
Hope you get to go this weekend
Love
Maggie

Hi Cathy,
Great finds and auction buys. Don't know what that wicker thing is. Let us know when you find out.
Have a great day!
~ Julie
I just love that lantern $25.00 what a steal...We simply can not find anything that cheap around here. Everyone eats when they are stressed maybe walk instead of the treadmill never did like those things.
Your 200 year old home sounded very intriguing, I'd love to hear more on the subject.
Have a wonderful week, Hugs Rosemary X
Love fresh eggs, we have been blessed with a friend that brings them also. Your yard sale finds are great! I am off to one this morning, getting first dibs if I get off of here and get ready. I feel your pain on the eating although I have been walking 3+ miles almost every day for two months and have not lost a pound. How frustrating! JWS keeps telling me that at least I have not GAINED a pound! Glass half full, I guess.
Cathy
LOVE fresh eggs whenever I can get them! You found some great interesting items!
