The Big Clean Up

I did the lamb cake for the first time this year. Not bad, not bad, except I did not put enough frosting under him to anchor him, and he slowly leaned backwards lol. But he was tasty and everyone like him.
I forgot to take these out for everyone to try. Too bad husband and I will have to eat them and yes, they taste just like coffee!
I went out early Sat morning for a just a few things and the local grocery store was marking everything Easter 1/2 price! I grabbed something for my husband and wished I had waited to buy the candy for the kids because there was a lot still there to purchase.
We had 23 in attendance kids and adults, and it was raining!! But we made the best of it and got through it.

A couple of weeks ago I met up with my sweet friend Donna, and she gave me this pottery candle/incense holder. It is so pretty.
I have been painting a bit when I am not too busy.

And today on my way out of yoga, I stopped at the little thrift store. I purchased these threads that are 100 percent wool for 7.00. I do plan on sharing with my grand and sweet friends so hopefully it will get used.

It is a very blustery day today, but I need to get walking more. I am praying for good weather soon!
Have a wonderful week!
P.S. Thank you for all the well wishes you truly are the best. I am much better I think in the next day or so I will be 100 percent (almost there)

Well first comment went by by. Snow flurries off and on all day with blustery winds and sun. We have two youngest granddaughters here all week (8 & 4). Keeping them occupied is exhuasting.

Love that lamb cake! That's funny that it was leaning but it didn't matter since it got eaten up! Glad you are getting better.

I'm impressed by your lamb cake, even with a lean. I wouldn't dare to even attempt that.
Coffee jelly beans! I have never seen them. I know some people who would like them.
I love the candle holder.
Glad you are doing better.

You did a great job on that lamb cake. You had 23 people in your house! Wow. Sorry about the rain.

Your lamb cake turned out great! I would not have thought about the need for a healthy frosting layer to prevent leaning. Yikes, I don't think I could do 23 indoors...or 23 period at this point. Just doing it for my son, dil and grand did me in...and my "big clean-up" isn't done yet LOL. I did my Easter shopping early Wednesday morning. We were expecting an ice storm on Thursday (which came); on Friday, I was on Gigi duty; and there was no way I could tackle a pre-holiday shopping trip the day before while trying to get things ready. I thought it should be a breeze. It wasn't. Stores were crazy and the grocery was out of half the things I was looking for. I bet my dil would have loved those jelly beans. She is coffee crazy.

You always find the best stuff when thrifting. Wish we had stores like that around here. The lamb cake looked adorable even though he went awry. We had freezing rain and sleet yesterday. Am thinking Spring will never come and we will

And we will go straight to Summer I meant to say. LOL Janice

Love your lamb cake! We're celebrating this Sunday and I made my lamb cake but will decorate it on Saturday. My Mom always made a lamb cake on Easter with her cast iron lamb mold she got when she got married. I now have a cast iron on as well as my sister. We like the tradition of making this cake. I'm glad your cold is better. I'll blog tonight with update on Jordan and my little "trip" that ended me in the ER today! Never a dull moment!

It's good to know you're on the mend. The lamb cake looks fine and I like the pretty bow. I missed out on the half-price Easter candy. It went so fast!

Oh, I hear ya with that head cold. Just got over one myself, and it was a bad one. I'm glad you are feeling better. Your lamb cake is so special. You did a great job on that! Oh my, those coffee jelly beans sound delightful. I'll have to look for them. That candle is pretty that your friend gave you. I enjoyed seeing all your "this and thats" for the week. Those posts are my favorite. ; )
